What have you done to your car today?

Got the car aligned which means the end of the "rear end refresh" phase. (minus fitting new front wheels once I get the missing rim and a few touch ups but at least the car drives straight and well now! ) Was a faff for my poor small tyre shop with the alignment heads moving when they started banging on the trailing arms so had to restart the process and then had to pull out the blow torch for front rods as they were very stuck.

Used the famous M3 CSL for reference though it seems their machine was giving fairly high rear camber but I am happy with that. Car feels much nicer now as the front end was toed out significantly (before reading for rear was obviously out of wack due to taking the rear subframe out).

I popped the hardtop back on today! I love the hard top option. your car is gorgeous, very nicely done; very. It is hard to find a hard top in the USA. This picture is my car with a hard top. I purchased my car 19 years ago but no hard top was available finally found one about 10 years ago so I could go on closed-circuit race tracks. It was black and did not want to repaint it so my Z definitely looks unique :D The hard top is a requirement for many tracks here in the United States only 100 Z4 tops were sold in the USA for E85 roadsters 2003-2005

Thank you :D Your car looks great too. Black and white works very well. Love the Beyern rims. You've got some nice mods on it looking at your list in the previous post

Just a few things then

New repairs took me three weeks to complete. The other mods started when I got the car 19 years ago and slowly upgraded. Next, I have to get my general control model refurbished and will send that out to a pro. The last time I took my Z to race track one year ago, "The Firm "in Starke, Florida, my car with these mods, I could overtake my friend's modified Porsche GT3 on straights and some light turns, but on the hairpin and S turn, he took the lead back. Some of that is my skill level is "novice "and needs improving, The new Limited slip (Turner Motor Sports) differential will make a big difference. The factor diff. I would plow through the turns, and I could not get the front tires to hold because the inside rear wheels would not allow the nose of the car to dive on sharp turns. The factory open dif is just not good on the road course; Nice to find such an active Z forum.
I love that new steering wheel you pictured. That is a Fantastic job!

What am I about to do today?

Well its raining and freezing cold, Vall is out all day and [ref]pvr[/ref] has commissioned a new pair of front struts.
So, of course, quickly repurpose the spare room, take care to aim away from the full length mirrors on the wardrobe, and play with my new meccano set.
