What have you done to your car today?

switched out my aging stock shifter for a leather m-sport style short knob

Love the small holes on the shifter and the glossy part above the shift layout. Looks great!

Got the EU clear front bumper reflectors fitted to my facelift. Looks much better than the amber USDM reflectors :D

I cleaned out my headlights. The above is a finger wipe across the inside of the xenon projector lens. The increased light output as a result of cleaning them and also the inside of the glass, is big!

I changed both vanos solenoids. Car was idling quite rough and diagnostics pointed to that area. I had taken the old ones out a few times to clean which improved things for a while. When I rebuilt the vanos, I didn't need to change them. Anyway, since putting new ones in, the car drives like a dream. Happy chappy.

Driven it and bought a cigarette port adaptor so i can run in the dashcam and still have a charging port. Oh and been notified that the media bridge for bluetooth phone and music streaming is at the post office. Emailed a company about gearbox tuning (smg) Also looked at exhaust options.

which Bluetooth bridge did you buy, im looking for one myself

fitted my new Gravity exhaust :D
bit of a struggle, studs snapped and had to be drilled, they're very hard
had to cut the support plate, exhaust was touching, tried everything before i cut
but the sound is good, a lot quieter than the cheap one i had fitted thank goodness

Ordered from AUTODOC for the first time tonight as they had 43% off.
Ordered new rocker cover gasket.
Set of bolts.
Two drop links.
Actuator gasket.
All came to £70 including delivery and I also paid £4 option to return stuff quicker if needed.
Will be interested to see how long it takes to arrive.

Got in my project 2.2i, loaded with tools and drove 100 miles to visit Paul ([ref]Neens76[/ref]). We've spoken loads of times but never met before.
Couple of hours to do a leisurely replacement of the top cover gasket on his immaculate 3.0i, plus a confidence check of all the stored faults.
The car is on 86k and I suspect it was the original gasket as it was more akin to toffee brittle than rubber! Slightest touch and it shattered into a thousand shards.
Which doesn't say much for previous maintenance as there were two almost new coils fitted! Pretty sure the old gasket had just been left in place as it was the worst I've seen. Hopefully no more burning oil on the exhaust.
After all the dodgy weather it was so nice to get there and back in glorious autumn sunshine, with the little 2.2 returning a healthy 40.3mpg.
Great to meet in person, won’t be the last, and my Zed is back to normal. Much appreciated, Sir.

Fitted a new bonnet buffer stop (with ejector) on the driver's side.

I did the other side just over a year ago, but got this one slightly cheaper on Ebay from Vertu in Durham - less than £12. :D

Driver's side ejector seat? isn't it meant to be on the passenger side?

No, that's what BMW call this thingy that fits in the front of the bonnet slam panel. My ejector had ejected permanently.

Well I've fitted an Echo Auto and Magsafe charger with on/off LED button switch. Also fitted a personalised alcantara LED Gear knob and solar powered tyre pressure monitor unit.

Birthday out in the car with the wife today. Breakfast at Bovey Tracey then up to the Devon Bonsai place, then Crediton garden centre and back to Paignton seafront for coffee. Out all day till dusk roof down drive all day but for 10 mins as managed to dodge any rain. Amazing
Ahhhh.....Paignton seafront....that brings back memories of being lost as a 4 year old on the beach, parents were frantically looking everywhere for me after I decided to leave the hotel room and head for the beach for some sandcastle building action.....

Took it for a quick pre-MOT check. The balljoints on the lower wishbones show excessive play, also explaining the recently developed vibration at speed and a slightly vague feeling (other than our EPS dullness) straight ahead. Given that the last 7000km were on Italy’s and Scotland’s finest roads as well as the age of the arms, not entirely shocking. New arms on order, no real other issues found
