What have you done to your car today?

Had a decent sunny day to fit my YSR coilovers and some Superpro adjustable droplinks today, also gave the engine bay a damn good clean and tidy up. Need to let the car settle for a while now, then geometry time!

Not a good day. Taxed it. Took it for fuel and to check tyre pressures. Came back to house. Had lunch and suggested to wife we go for a short run with the roof off as it was nice and sunny. A few miles from the house the EML came on. Pulled over in the nearest farm lane and got the RAC to scuttle it off to the local indie BMW garage. Possible throttle position sensor, will find out tomorrow. Glad we were not too far away.

What a shocker! Hope they sorted it today for you and wasn't something too big

An 800 quid bill looming. Throttle actuator needs replacing which is coming from BMW so its pricey. Because they have the intake manifold off I am getting them to change the starter motor too. It played up over 12 months ago, then never really repeated the fault. But I have always been convinced it was on it's way out. As they had the intake off. it seems daft not to do it now. Should get it back tomorrow. Will be good to get it back as I had literally only got about 4 miles done after it's winter lay up.

Today I had a custom stainless system fitted at Simon's custom exhausts in East Kilbride. To say I'm happy is an understatement.

Look good. I have read a lot of good reviews from Simons and will probably go there to replace the tips, if I get round to it.

Fitted personal plates because I'm a chav

They mean something to me, and were cheap as chips

And yes, yes, I know my weed matting under the gravel needs sorting...

I opted for a sporty sound but not the in your face kind. On idle it's pretty much the same as stock. It has a nice rasp from it when you give it some beans. No vids, sorry.

I booked it back in December. He was saying yesterday that he's fully booked until the end of May now. That in itself speaks volumes of his workmanship.

Forgot to add....
Also adapted a BMW Aux usb socket, so I can plug phones etc into the headunit without trailing cables everywhere.

That's a really smart installation. How complicated was wiring it up?

And it's good to see another car with the rare Cirrus Aluminium trim - I had it in my 2nd Z4 and really liked it.

It’s not too bad, it was a case of buying the socket and bit of the loom, then soldered a male usb onto the lead and then plugged it into the rear of the head unit.
