What have you done to your car today?

Car is currently trapped in the garage for the foreseeable future due to a collision between my wife's car, (driven by me) and the garage door; door 0, car 1. Looking like about 4 weeks until she gets back on the road .... :x So the engine was due for a good clean so that was done today as well as fitting of the new indoors car cover, courtesy of a friend down the road that works for a dealership in town - looking good!! 
I didn’t actually do it today, but was able to verify that it worked today.....
Budget auto-dim rear view mirror
2nd hand 1 series mirror 7118331 for £19.99 compared to the much more expensive ones for e85/86
Do the normal procedure to take off the mirror
Split both mirrors in half
Remove the card which illuminates the clown-nose alarm - this is the remote sensor which works on a different frequency - 433 vs 866 MHz
Swap the e85/86 sensor into the 1 series mirror
Put back together and plug into the car
Enjoy not being dazzled by cars behind you
Terrible quality pics, but at least you can see the difference from when I covered the sensor on the rear

Fitted new rear coils, picked up some new trim clips from the local dealer and fitted them, removed the passenger seat and cleaned underneath (drivers seat was removed recently when I was removing the EPS module so had to even it up). Ordered some new alloy wheel centre caps. Productive day!

Just swapped my slightly tatty 18" MV2s on Goodyears, for some 17" turbine 106s on Uniroyal Rainmasters.
Only driven about 10 miles so far, but wow! So much more compliant on typical suburban roads - a much better ride.
I'm expecting a bit of a pay off on long sweeping bends at speed - but how fast do you really need to go? I'm sure 17" rims will offer the best compromise for general driving. Heaven knows what the MV2s would have been like on runflats!

Replaced the rear springs with Eibachs after joining the rear spring club. Also scrubbed out the rear arches while there. Car rides well now 
I took it in for an MOT this morning.
FAIL - nothing coming out of the screen-washers (and an advisory for a rear number plate light out).
I hoped it was gunge on the washer pump filter as happened 3 years ago, but the filter was pretty clean. Sadly the washer pump was dead, although it was working last week. :?
Anyway I wanted to get it sorted today so my only hope was BMW - Barons didn't have one, but Sytner did so I paid them an extortionate amount of £49.91 for a new pump and put it all back together. Gave the number plate light a tap and it came on!
Went back and got a clean sheet with no re-test fee, so that's another year taken care of!

Replaced the expansion tank a few weeks back - what a pig of a job that is, at least for an amateur like me! Well and truly stuck after being on for 16 years and getting the new one lodged on was just as hard - just didn't seem to sit right but done a few thousand miles since and no leaks so must be ok!
A more satisfying job below, bit of a difference!
Also replaced a split inlet boot, got new polybushes fitted, 4 new tyres and alignment. Hopefully no big bills for a while!
