What have you done to your car today?

It's the 189s for me. Aftermarket wheels never look good in 18 inch on the zed, the 107/8s, mv2s etc always look better to me. 19inch is another matter, but like you say it effects the ride quality

Put my new 18” CSL rep/style wheels on. Not sure if they’ll be staying, but they allow me to keep the car on the road while I DIY refurb the style 189s. Then it’ll be decision time - which stay and which go?

Both look good to me just go with your gut - ive just got csl reps to replace 16 inch originals and now my mine looks like a proper sports car but each to their own

I actually prefer the CSLs on your car - they suit the colour of the car etc.

I wouldn’t have them myself, but I think they look good in your pic.

And in case any wonders... I’m still rocking the 19” black cades from ErrErrminator ... everyday they make me smile lol. Never been so happy over wheels before

New radiator :o looked like the original so 15 years old hope I get another 15 from this one and some trouble free time to enjoy her and spend some money on nice new non mechanical bits :D oh new mot and oil change :D

Full groom including washing and conditioning the soft top - amazed how it has turned out.

Took the Zed out in the rain. :o

Drove up to Brum and back to pick up Mrs G's new wheels. :driving:

Sorry to be a dip s#*t .... but what is it that you both removed ? Benefits ? Thanks guys :(

Had the clutch delay valve removed. The clutch action is SO much better.

Cheers, tug

Car went in for an oil service and Sytner High Wycombe today. That’s it’s seventh service in 9 and a half years and 135k miles, all services carried out at BMW main dealers on time and within mileage. Requires a litre of oil every 10k miles and still pulls like a train and gives amazing fuel economy on the motorway. Infact the engine feels stronger that when I bought the car 5 and a half years ago with 50k on the clock. I’m looking forward to taking her to 200k :D

Thanks tug
When you both said about how much better it was , thought I’d better ask... better is always good.... unfortunately it’s something I can’t do as mines auto.... fair play for letting everyone know about it though, that’s what makes this such a great forum

Changed the waterpump and thermostat on Saturday along with a good flush and new coolant. Last waterpump lasted for 88k miles - so not too bad as BMW electric waterpumps go..... Looking forward to getting back out on the road and not worrying the pump is about to fail (at least for a while anyway) :) Coolant that came out was in good condition which was comforting.

Bought a new blank spare key on eBay for £30 yesterday with the car only having come with 1.

The local key cutters cut it for free to be fair to them and the “method 2” program worked perfectly.

Removed the “si” rubberised wheel parts and sanded down using 600 by hand ready for spray today.

Used matt black spray from Halfords. Will fit once dry and post results
