I bought that kit from seeing yours and mine didnt come up the same, any technique to this?? i used 2000 then 3000 then 5000 then polish by hand but with little effect (they wasnt bad anyway)
Honestly I don't think I've done anything special, however I'll type it out as it might help?
Started off by wiping the lens down with some paper towel and windolene.
Then used the kit, didn't follow the instructions 100%, I started off using the polish agent over the whole lens, mainly horizontal, but when I felt like it I'd make mister miyagi (karate kid) circles. And vertical as well over the most affected areas. (Spent about 15 minutes on this per light)
Used the 2000 for quite a while, only on the badly damaged portions. Alternating between horizontal and vertical movements. Followed this by doing the same with 3000 (and slightly widening the area). Lastly used the 5000 for quite a while as its obviously the finest paper and I kept expanding the treatment area as to not have an obvious overlap. Between that and unsanded areas
(as I didn't find it necessary to sand the whole lens down in my case)
Rinsed the headlight a couple of times during the sanding process with water (as to remove micro plastic and sandpaper residu)
Again at the end using the polish stuff over the whole lens and interchanging between horizontal/vertical and circular movements. Think I might have done this step twice?
Rinsed it off with water, dried with paper towel.
Applied lens sealer,
Left the lens sealer for 10-15 minutes
And wiped this off, again using mister miyagi circles. Probably spent about 1-1,5 hours per lens though..
Todays result of the other lens, perhaps it helps?
