What have you done to your car today?

Soundproofed the boot floor
Vinyl wrapped a centre console trim piece
Made and glued on a microswitch striker for my parcel shelf
Found my missing parcel shelf retaining clips in the battery compartment (!)
Somehow deactivated my parking sensors

Man I love having a project to work on again! :driving:

You’ve got me wondering if my missing parcel shelf clips are in the same place? Going to have a peek in there tomorrow.

Hah! You never know! The previous owner had wrapped them up in the tool wrap for some unknown reason. I was chuffed!

Fitted the Isofix bracket to the passenger seat so that I could finally take my son out in the Zed. He really enjoyed our little outing this afternoon and so did I. A nice little Father’s Day treat! :)

What a great fathers day treat for you

Gave my wife's Z an Engine and Gearbox oil change, that completes it's Inspection service. Didn't do the diff as I'm not sure it it's an LSD or not. The casing does not look like other pictures I've seen on YouTube and it has cooling fins on the rear casing at the bottom... And have arranged to get the rear brake pipes replaced as they are looking very rusty!

Just finished packing the roadster for a week in New quay Wales. 2x small suitcases, a nag full.of food essentials and other bits. Who says the boots are small. And I can still get the roof down. Was a toss up between hoping for sun or taking the Coupe!! I hope we have dry weather

 Wipers fixed. Best £3.98 I could spend on eBay. Can recommend i6 to anyone. They also do the DISA repair kits which I had done on the roadster last year.

Hey buddy - link please? Looking to do my disa soon..

Fitted an Eventuri intake bought from mr.tourette in my 3.0si today. Preliminary results are excellent. It will get a proper test tomorrow on a trip to Wales :D

What does sound proofing the boot do? Does it help keep it quiter inside?

Any pics of the vinyl wrap?

What's the purpose of the microswitch?

Sorry for the 101 questions

1. Soundproofing reduces noise, yes. There's always room for improvement (unless you buy a Rolls Royce or similar). Though the Z4 Roadster was never built to be a quiet car, it can be improved a little.

2. Took a couple of pics to show. The most recent was the panel under the handbrake lever button, but I also did the ash tray lid a week or two ago:

3. The microswitch in the boot is a piece of the car's original intelligence that tells it whether the parcel shelf is in the upper or lower position. The car will not open the roof unless the parcel shelf is in the lower position. The small plastic protrusion that is supposed to contact the microswitch had broken off my shelf, meaning it didn't always enable to roof to work as it should. The same had happened with my centre console door, which therefore wasn't turning off the centre console interior light. I've given that the same treatment, making up a plastic replacement and bonding it on.
