What have you done to your car today?

Fitted my m-performance gear knob, and found out where my oil leak was coming from (most likely) - the valvetronic gasket. At least it's easier to replace than the rocker cover gasket.
For the gear knob, I placed a rubber grommet underneath to make the leather boot more 'fuller' under the shank of the knob.

Sorted a few odds and ends in the engine bay this morning. I’ve added the part numbers if it helps anyone.
Fixed vacuum control shut off valve bracket. The rivet had broken, so new rivet and reattached.
Fitted four strut brace caps as missing. B51.71.7.896.829
Replaced screen wash to strut bolt as rusty. B07.11.9.901.587
Replaced the two bonnet catch bolts as also rusty. M07.14.6.985.055

It bothers me that BMW didn't make a bespoke cover infront of the engine, so you M guys end up with a hole where the expansion tank on lesser models sits.

Bit strange isn’t it. Maybe BMW will say the expansion tank hole is really a hose inspection point on the M models.

Finally wrapped the plastic around the gear knob.

And treated the car to new rear brake pipes and front drive belts.

Took mine for its MOT this morning. I didn't think anything was Amis but still puts a smile on my face when told it sailed through no advisories . :D

Loving the attention to detail

Drove to the shops- first time out of the garage in ages and even in such a wee run I loved every second!

Finally got her back after the planned one hour job to replace the rear pads turned into a £165, three day visit, due to me leaving my my wheel key attached to the rear wheel when I changed the tyre a while back.

note to self don't do that again.

Fixed my dodgy rear parking sensor. Got a replacement in same colour and managed to get at it without removing the bumper. Too many near misses in the couple of days it hasn't worked!

Had another caliper replaced at the zed shed on my beloved 328i sport

Nice to have the propper diagnosis equipment to talk to an obd1 car to bleed the abs!

Well today's job was to da the paintwork on my Z to get rid of the the dreaded swirl marks and fine scratches.
Black does show these marks up quiet a bit. So 8 hours later and a sore head from the sun and the z is now ready for a nice drive up to the Sports car in the park at Newby Hall in the morning.

Wow Black does look nice once polished up though.
