Yesterday i finally got my wheels fitted, about 6 months after buying them. Refurbed myself(never again) and shod in MPS4 all round.
My Eibach springs also arrived at 4 in the afternoon, so fitted them and the spacers i had waiting to go on too.
By the time i finished it was dark so i left it in the garage.
Today i got it out for a good clean and have just driven it into town. Seems much more compliant now without RFL, despite the increase in wheel size. Hardly follows the road camber now either.

looking good, south hams, went to school in Kingsbridge. still go to totnes regularly, lovely area.

So did I! Finished in 2000, which makes me feel old, remember it like yesterday.

Took the DISA valve out for inspection. Thought I'd take a look before ordering up a repair kit.
Couldn't see anything wrong, all looked in perfect working order! The suspect pin that sometimes can work loose looked a nice tight snug fit to me. The rest of the unit looked fine as well. Diaphragm working as it should. Engine has covered just over 120,000 miles.
I've put it back with peace of mind that it won't fail any time soon. Will check it in another 12 months, or thereabouts.

If it a'int broke don't fix it - me thinks.

Cleaned my vanos solenoids after getting an error code and what a difference it has made on my 2.0.

20 minutes job, new seals from BMW for £6 and the idle and revs are so much smoother and more power lower down

changed the rear pads, replaced the warning sensor and reset the mileage in the computer. Reset tyre pressures on all wheels.

Tried to replace the 3rd brake light, don't have the right length thingy to unscrew the nut. Tried to get my keyfob working again, failed... so nothing

Debadged the car and finally took the nasty dealer sticker of the rear screen, managed to get the roof down to take the wind deflector off to access the screen, bit of a palavar to remove a sticker, all being well ready for a good wash and detail tomorrow.

I spent an evening a couple of days ago stripping out the rear interior trim in my coupe, before sending to a local specialist today to have the pile of new suspension parts fitted that I’d accumulated over the winter months and wimped out of trying to fit myself.

So today it has been treated to:

New Sachs shock absorbers with top mounts all round
New upper spring platforms and rubber pads on the front
New Suplex rear springs
New front rack rod ends and drop links
New Poly rear trailing arm bushes.

Whilst they were doing that lot, they discovered the rear anti roll bar was broken, so it’s now had a new one of those too!

It then went for full four wheel alignment, to original OEM spec so I can see how it handles before experimenting with any changes suggested here on the forum.

Initial impressions are that the annoying low speed rumble has finally gone, likely to be due to a previously diagnosed slop in the front RH shock, but equally could be connected to the ARB issue, and the steering is a bit less twitchy feeling.

Well today, I got it properly dirty with a 150 mile round trip to do a driving experience at Long Marston. The coupe has been transformed by the suspension refresh and wheel alignment, and coupled with the right selection of back roads around the Cotswolds it gave me more driving pleasure than the fancy motors I drove at the track today.

So I’d urge anyone with a 10 year old zed that has not already done so, to consider replacing the shock absorbers even if it’s only with OEM spec replacement parts.

Top up of oil... Ordered a litre of oil, they then came out and said they didnt have the 1L in stock so I could have the 4L one for the same price. Winner!

Wiped the rain marks off the bonnet, the cobwebs off the door mirror, and did 3% of my annual mileage in it (that being a whole 6 miles) :lol:

Looks nice 8) did you wipe the wind deflector mesh? Your cloth will be black after doing so. It's surprising how much dirt it collects!

Went topless for the 1st time this year, oh and I bought some woodworm treatment, I really did
I noticed that there was powder on the bonnet from the timber in the roof of the garage, can't be to careful with my dash.

Fitted my Eibach springs & Bilstein B4s.........................been a busy day

Over the last couple of days, I renewed the micro filter and air filter ( both still quite clean- 2 years, 10,000 miles, but cheap to replace so why not).

Then I had new oil and filter ( less than a year, 5000 miles since last- my coupe gets spoilt) along with Archoil AR9100 treatment, and new rear pads ( Textar e-pads) and shiny new clips. These jobs were done at an indy garage.
