Not keen on the calipers, but the finish on your alloys is beautiful 8)

Wanted something different from the usual red/yellow, I think the green matches the gray quite well :)

Wheels need a good clean and a buff up, but when i do that they put the paint to shame lol

I nearly have the wheels all back together now.
Fitted a bit of red tint film to make the rear lights symmetrical. Excuse the filthy car.
Got some spacers and Eibach springs ordered. Went with 12/15mm after a few people mentioned rubbing with the more forum popular sizes of 15/20mm.

Took it into work, as it was such a lovely morning and quicker that defrosting the daily chugger. Then got scowled at by the new womble on the gate, when I zig zagged around the speed bumps. :D

Used the good weather to get my annual service done, as well as refreshing the cooling system.

I only have words unsuitable for the forum for the engineer opting to place the front cross member webbing directly in front of the water pump!

So it seems the water pump on the Z4, a quick as anything job on all other M54 engined cars, requires you to jack the bloody engine off one mount to get enough clearance to wriggle the pump out... And even then it's incredibly tight! :headbang:

Anyway, all done, bled, new oil and filters and helped my dad build a new table in the time letting the engine cool down between bleeds

short service, thermostat change and coolant change. Lets hope thats got the bloody water drip!

:x

Finally have the car the way I want it.
Wheels refurbed and thoroughly detailed.
Just need some better weather to enjoy it.

Fitted stormwerks v1 gearknob, had rear trailing arm bushes replaced and having pilot sport 4s fitted tomorrow, plus hunter alignment. Looking forward to having Michelin rubber back on (as good as the asymmetric 2s have been)

Resprayed steering wheel spoke covers as they had the typical wear showing through.
My threepenneth is that they can be removed without taking off the hornpush/airbag.Take a torx20 to the screws behind the spokes, then wiggle the covers up and out from behind the hornpush.
I have used Tamiya acrylic thinner, matt black and several coats of matt clear thinned to give a strong scratch resistant coating.
The modellers on here will get this, and it is likely to last for years :D IMG_20180405_174718.jpgvf

Does this apply to MFSWs?

I don't know Simon, but at the worst just do it the other way.i.e. battery disconnect for 1/2 hrs prior to commencement. All well documented on here mate😀

Thanks Jack, I've seen the documentation of people doing it but there's never a mention of it being done in situ with a MGSW hence my question.

The problem I have mate is that I can't recode the car if I disconnect the battery.

Si I'm not sure I know what you mean by recode the car. If your thinking radio codes etc then it's fine as the car doesn't use them. If your thinking eml light or airbag light etc As long as you disconnect the battery first and put everything back together before reconnecting it should be fine.

Hi Si, yep MACK is correct
I removed my steering wheel last week to repaint the trims. I left the battery disconnected for 3 days and only reconnected it again once the steering wheel and air bag had been refitted. Everything was ok and nothing needed reprogramming.
Just remember to wait 30 minutes after disconnecting the battery before trying to remove the airbag. I falso found a plastic chopstick was the perfect tool for removing the airbag :)
