I drilled a vent hole in the top and put a goretex patch over it. Dried the lamp out real well. Then replaced into the car and hey presto.... Condensation....
I think, as you say, the main problem is the seal around the lens. I'm currently waiting to see what I can get a new pair for, otherwise the lamp will come back out, be disassembled then reassembled with a better sealing job. Maybe use one of those loctite automotive specialty bonding adhesives that are like a black semi flexible epoxy.

Well i took the fog lights out though the holes in the arches
When looking for the leak, it only seemed to be the bottom part of the foglight seal
next step was to wash the unit out then rinse with RO/DI water so not to get water spots, then dry the unit out with hair dryer.
The disign seems to have a floor, where any water that could come from above is funneled into that section, so with recent snow and ice, could have blocked the drain
then i took the light out of the housing brackets, then removed there mushroom vents, bellow is how they look when opened, the units them self are quite shallow
here is the new design
this is it mounted, its epox`d into place and is sealed bottom and top, the hole in the new part if mounted diagonally opposite to the drain,
in theory this could have been one hole furthest from drain. The whole unit around the clear plastic was cleaned and sealed with black silicon.
easiest way to refit was bumper off, will have to wait and see if this works over the next forthcoming weeks

Got up early so thought I'd crack on with the rear suspension.
Getting the boot interior out wasn't so bad. It's getting the bloody parcel shelf clips back in that's the utter Ballache!!!!! Took me about an hour to get that piece of plastic trash back into position.
Anyway. Rear shock replacement went fine. As I suspected, they were both finished. Neither came back up when compressed and one had leaked it's fluid everywhere.
All back on, went for a test drive and no nasty sounds. Sits a bit higher than previously, but that's due to the shocks actually doing their job. Ride quality is much improved now. Just need an alignment done to finish the job.

Front drivers and rear passenger struts didn’t come back up after compression, no wonder it drove so badly!
So all done and quite chuffed with myself, having never previously done anything similar.

Unfortunately, having such large mileage means the bodywork has seen better days. A fair few battle scars on her, which I need to get sorted.I just want to make sure all the mechanicals are up to scratch first. Once all the suspension set-up is finished, it's on to the CCV system and then I'll get the paintwork sorted.

It feels good to complete a job yourself. My Dad was going to do mine, but he's busy so decided to have a go myself. Pleased I did now
Wish I could've got coilovers, but I didn't want to spend too much and also didn't want to have to mess around with insurance declarations.

Being a weekend car I couldn’t justify spending a fortune on a reputable brand but also knew that it needed a refresh.I went with stanceplus, thinking that with little use and also how bad the existing bits were, they would at least be better than what was basically nothing!
Can’t complain for the price and it’s much much better than it was before, so all good!
