I think the headlight wash needs to work to pass M.O.T,

I think he means that if you just give the stalk the slightest tap, so as to activate the windscreen washers momentarily, but not long enough to fire the headlight ones then for the next 5 uses, the headlight washers don't fire, which is the way the system is setup to prevent them working every time you use the washers. The 5 can also be coded to I think 3 times as well.

I think it would be a better idea if the headlight washers squirted on the 3rd or 4th spray rather than the first.
That way you could spray your windows a few times before the lights are done. Don't see why they have to be sprayed on the first use of the washers.

THAT would be a better way, even if it was the 2nd operation. at least then you could control it and choose whether they operate!

Question though, I'm not sure if I have the old "82N" springs or the new ones, Not sure how to tell, would I be safe with finger tight each of them, then half or one turn with the socket?

It's already in the bin pal, it was beyond repair and in 6-7 different broken bits.

Changed front drop links and anti roll bar bushes. Very easy job and had mad a noticeable difference. Ordered the tears now

Took the fog light bulb out and dried the condensation out. Put some silicon grease on the sealing ring.
Fingers crossed it works.

Poor @ducklakeview spent a good 5 hours sorting my e46 out... Seeing as I'd snapped the pinch bolt, damaged the bolt that goes through the bottom arm into the hub and ripped the seal on the OS caliper, I thought it was best I down tools and leave it to Mike In future, so 1 euro car parts trip for a new wishbone, 1 Halfords trip for a 21mm spanner and a lot of swearing and vaping later I now have a nice car to drive once again 8)

Found a cracked wheel arch liner that broke apart at the lightest inspection, so clearly the plastic was completely brittle. Had a look and OEM parts are insane so ordered a 3rd party one. Can't see any issue with such a part, after all it's just a splash shield. £120 for BMW parts, no chance!

Also took the starter off and gave it a clean down, was well covered in clutch dust!

Finally fitted my AGT skirt extensions. Got them in the group buy 5 months ago. They look a lot better on the car than they do stuffed down the side of the wardrobe...

I went with flush at the back and 40 mm directly under the front of the door. I got the angle grinder out and cut a rectangle out of the back inner corner as they were clashing with the flap in front of the rear wheel and also had to drill a 22mm hole to over come a plastic pin head that is in a similar area.

Thanks I have to say I wasn’t looking forward to fitting them but it was pretty easy in the end. The grinder flew through the carbon without any chipping too

I am a bit of a lurker here.
Anyway, i fetched the Z4 out of its winter slumber this week ready for its Mot. I changed the wheels for the Csl replicas (Christmas present to myself which the Mrs doesn’t know about, or noticed on the car!).
When changing the wheels over i realised the rear springs had snapped so got them swapped prior to the mot.
Today was a really nice day so took it for a drive out, drives much better with the new springs and matching rubber all round

Washed and then tucked back up in the garage.

All I did today was check the charger, just 3 and a half weeks before it's uncovered and back on the road.
Bit of good news, my insurance has dropped by £90 with a Hastings Direct classic car policy - worth a call if your zed is a garage queen.

Bought an endoscope that is compatible with my phone. I upgraded my head light bulbs to night breakers and water is getting in the headlight. I already bought a new rear headlight housing to try and fix it. I have no idea how it is getting in!

I flicked the adjustment levers so I didn’t need stickers for Europe and they fogged up on the inside. When I flicked them back a week or so later I washed and lubed up the seal and used a hair dryer to get the condensation out. The unit its self was still warm when I put the rear cover back on and it’s been bone dry since.
