What have you done to your car today?

Went for a top down spin in the sunshine :D , filled up with Super unleaded, removed the short piece of foam from the sound generator tube - quite pleased with that, just about the right level for me. Don't think it will help with fuel economy though

I replaced another $80 angel eye bulb, what an absolute rip-off, I then ordered some LED's off the Net to give them a test,

  • Remove the CDV and bled the clutch.
  • Fixed my bonnet adjustment so that bonnet sits level with two wings and hopefully won't rub on radiator cowl.
  • Drained, flushed and replaced the engine coolant
  • Changed the air filter
  • Changed the engine oil and filter
  • Removed rear wheel arch liners and inspected, found small spot of surface rust, rubbed down, hammerite under-coated then Bilt Hamber UB waxed on top
  • Brushed Bilt Hamber UB on rear brake pipe bends (where they always go rusty)

I just wish I could get the remote keyfobs working, still upsetting me bigtime :(

yesterday a stubby went on :)

and today was the first drive in the daylight! lively little scamp isnt it, though probably the cold temps and wet roads. sounds awesome, and the noise just builds as you approach the redline - 6k in a 3.0 straight six sounds epic! Not convinced by sport mode though... makes the throttle a little digital. like the weighty steering and ease of blipping the throttle. maybe it'll feel better when on track.

got brake pads ready to go in, and new rear track tyres on order, both of which should help with the grip. Will be taking the front camber pins off for as much front camber as possible as well.

Got rid of my stubby and put the original whippy back on.

Tomorrow going to put the one piece of foam that I took out of the sound generator back in!

V-Brace sprayed yellow today! :D7EC9FF74-4D56-47EC-AD10-494D69EE8C95.jpg

Just sprayed mine black so they didnt stand out after some of the paint had flaked off, I didnt even think about making them a visible feature behind the grill :/

Mine had flaked in the same way, so they were half silver have black. Nice in yellow as you can't really see it, so only a subtle hint of colour!

Fitted new Bosch platinum plugs, think they were still the originals! Plus finally found out where I am loosing coolant from - There is a tiny pin prick hole in the side of the expansion tank, new one here to fit tomorrow, and as the bottom of the rad is bowed, I have a new Hella one of those to go on too. Will try and remember to take some pics for a how to.

Weekend job!

Funny how a new Bosch unit shipped from Germany is cheaper than a rebuilt Lucas unit from ECP.

Voltage spiking under high electrical and engine load, tested with a replacement known working one last week and no issue. The one in it is an RTX brand rebuild, and googling them doesn't make the best reading! Ah well, at least I can be confident that this is OEM standard
