What have you done to your car today?

Today my roof motor was relocated into the boot by Mike (DLV) at Tony's gaff in Lincolnshire. Great work by Mike, great hospitality from Tony and about 10 Zeds in attendance. Great drive over and superb weather all day. Have I said it was great?

Full service all fluids the works atf and diff new black wheel bolts and all threads recut and clear halogens fitted HID kit to follow drives like a new car thanks DLV :D

Replaced the auto gear lever surround and gaiter, and handbrake gaiter. Took about 10 minutes, but I thought I broke the gear lever when it eventually popped off!

Thanks Kis, a very helpful forum member here, they were ideal! Nice drive over to your place too!

Changed the oil today. Drained out 6.25L and put 6.5L of new oil in along with a new Bosch filter :)

The old stuff had been in since feb this year, ran it through a filtered funnel into the new containers and was pleased to see no debris or sludge whatsoever.

Now they match and I have a grey type one for sale!

Car looks good. House isn't too bad either! Nice place

Cleaned and coated with Hydro2 silicone spray, adds some shine and water flies off it now!

Also ordered some Silent Coat to deaden the door skins over the Christmas break.

Nice one fella. Always a pleasure meeting a fellow enthusiast!

Don't know if I mentioned it but I've got Carly if you need any coding or diagnostics!

Hope it didn't get too dirty on the drive home! :driving:

Well yesterday now, but just driven back from North Wales. We went across country to from Llanberis to Newport, much faster than the M6 on a Sunday night. beat are drive up time on the motorway by 35 minutes. What a great place to drive at night. :driving:

PS We also found the perfect Garage in mid Wales. On sale, Bournvile Chocolate, Super unleaded and Dandelion and Burdock pop. The Holy trinity. :D

big day for me yesterday, me and a mate went through and:

Fitted new brake pads all round (EBC Bluestuff)
Bled the brakes with fresh DOT4 fluid
Checked coolant and air filter for condition
Swapped all the locking wheel nuts for normal ones
Fitted the towing eye

only things left are get new track tyres installed on the rims, and a wheel alignment, and then we're ready for first trackday, which is hopefully going to be Bedford GT on Sat 20th January if anyone fancies coming along

Adam1985, that’s the exact same headunit I have and am thinking about installing in my e86! Which adapters/harness thingies did you need, and what did you do to retain PDC? What make and model numbers?

Hey I bought the following to fit the head unit. Not sure if you have steering wheel controls but the adapter works for me most of the time. I do have an intermittent issue with the steering wheel controls stopping working for a day or two and then they come back on.

Having read on here about cleaning the brushed aluminium dash on my z4 with baby wipes, I tried it and it works a treat😀
Also applied Rainex to windscreen, which also works a treat.
Love the forum, great info 😀

Mike did some work on my 330d tonight,

Clutch delay valve removal
Propshaft donut
Tightened exhaust clamp

Wow it's like a differnt car, can't belive how worn the donut was, it basically fell to bits on removal, so much tighter now, it's tightened up the drive train no end coupled with the cdv removal it drives well for 212k!

Now, where can I go to post a thankyou thread? :tumbleweed:
