What have you done to your car today?

Got myself a 350z last year so the Z4 has been off the road for a while, looking forward to getting into the drivers seat again

Oh yeah? I was considering one, at one point! How they compare? Or can't you? Lol!

Not the zed but had to resort to this after my dog pressed the central locking button with her paw and id left the keys in the ignition

Kinda painful to look at! Should have gone to DLV (should have gone specsavers type thing) lol.
Not easier to do a front? Looks like a coupe? Rear windows are probably a nightmare? :?

Haha I phoned Mike first and then I broke the rear widow I got a replacement for 25 quid and fitted it myself

Drove my Zed on wet roads this morning, first time that has happened since the day i purchased it. Misjudged the weather on the way to the gym, it rained while I was there.
It had to happen at some pointi guess. Next time will be MOT day of course.

Still it needed a bit of a clean, so give me something to do this afternoon.

Rear springs done. took half an hour. Photo shows the unbroken one was on its last legs… Went for the Sachs as the price was good (£75- Eurospares)) and with a lifetime warranty. The ride is probably 10mm higher due to age and the coils are thicker than standard on the tapered ends. The original dampers still feel fine ever after my mileage.Rear coils 4.jpgRear coils2.jpgRear coils1.jpg

Pretty sure you've bought the wrong springs and that's why they're higher.

You probably had M Sport but it's always standard that get sold by places like that.

Attacked some green mould/algae using Milton Sterilising tablets - posted in 'How to': http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=100317

Took it to BMW UK in Farnborough this morning and got a free bacon roll from BMW!

My Z4 wasn't too lonely - there were a few other E86s there!

Sadly the new Z4 wasn't present - the person I spoke to said "it" was at the Frankfurt Motor Show (but I would have thought they may have more than 1).

Still there were plenty of lovely BMWs to look at (more in the car parks than in the building though)!

Thought you were taking off the road over winter :?

I am mate, last outing is this Saturday. I was going to rent a garage but decided to fit a hardtop and leave it on my drive instead.

Lovely day. Took her for a spin on Dartmoor. :driving: :D Then a quick wash and dry and back in the garage.

I've just changed the gearbox oil and taken it for a drive, for anyone considering changing it DO IT, it's made a big difference to the gear change, much smoother now.

I'd put it off for ages because of needing to have the car level while filling (putting it up on 4 axel stands doesn't feel safe to me), but in the end I got a pump from halfords (and a longer pipe) so I could lift the car, drain the old oil and put the end of the pipe into the fill hole, then I dropped the car back down and pumped til it was full, then jacked up again to refit the plug, only took about 10 minutes.

Swapped the red third break light for a clear one, I like the change but not as big a difference as I thought it would be..I'm 50/50. However I'll be sticking with the clear one.

These came today, and waiting on some clear side indicators from Halliwell Jones BMW.... just the headlights to source now.

Just because [ref]jamie_z4[/ref] was nagging me :) Nah, because I went mad on the Autosmart van yesterday, I washed it!

And then, stupidly when going to rinse the foam, I hadn't twisted the lance into the gun properly, so it popped out when I pulled the trigger, and shot forward like a bloody torpedo into my wing :o

Resulting in this...

Luckily, I'm going to see my mate the dent man on Saturday to sort the passenger wing, so I'll get it sorted then..

Looks like this now, parked on my favorite "private drag strip" AKA the delivery side of Costco which was closed :D I am loving it back on "normal" sized rubber, with the 15mm spacers back on the fronts..

After 13 years of ownership I got the roof working from the remote (via my local indy).

I don't like to rush into things :)
