Discovered that M-sport seats do in fact fit in the boot of an E91! Just… Now for the drive back home from [ref]Bigwinn[/ref] to NL :driving:

Always good to see you guys

Get home ok?

Jep! Got a train earlier, so back around 10’ish.

Not a bad score for a 3-litre straight six hauling 2 passengers at a decent average pace :driving:

Lovely looking car

Shame it’s not an Alfa

After a long wait, finally received my new intake from Haimus Racing.

Just need to get it mapped in now.

If anyone has snorkel ideas please let me know. Willing to pay for 3d print files.

Sorry can`t help with snorkel ideas but was just about to ask you what are you doing about a snorkel when I saw this under the photo :)
Looks a nice bit of kit . What made you go with Haimus racing ?

finished installing the new rocker cover gasket today on the E86 coupe.
Everything went fine, slightly unnerving when torquing the head bolts...you have a fear they will snap.....

Got it all done, jumped in the car and the engine wouldn't turn over....
Turns out I had forgotten to reconnect one electrical connection.

Hopefully the oily smell that was coming into the cabin will be gone now

Those stretch bolts are an absolute nightmare when it comes to feel on torquing things down :headbang:

I dealt with this last year lol, I got used to the smoke smell in the cabin for so long it was weird not smelling it again.

BTW, you will still smell it for a little bit since it's burning off whatever has already dripped on the exhaust. So don't think it's still leaking lol. Also a super tip: get a new cabin air filter if you can and change it. It will make everything smell nice and new and get rid of any lingering smoke smell.

I did let the engine run for almost an hour to make sure there were no leaks and there was a bit of smoke at the start, but I think that was oil drops that fell in the engine bay when I removed the cover. The smoke vanished after a few mins.
Will check what the cabin smell is like. Hadn’t thought of the cabin filter.

If I get a chance I’m going to torque up the old bolts in my vice and see what they go up to before snapping.
I know they’ve been stretched already, but just a bit curious……

Tbh the torque on those bolts is so low I doubt they get anywhere near stretching in the first place. Look how many there are. Too tight and they deform the cover and the seal.
Worry ye not. All will be good.👍🏻

New plates on, was not fun removing the previous number plate sticky pads though… not fun at all.

Weird photo, due to exposure in very low light. Colour looks way off.
