Over the last two days I wrapped the center console brushed aluminum trim piece to a brushed black and finished changing other trim from grey to black.

That looks great, what wrap material did you use?
3M 2080 Brushed Black (BR212)

Un-Sorn’d it and received new plates…

I like the number, so I’m not bothered if anyone thinks I’m vain :poke:

If you like it who cares?

But couldn't you have got the 2 to look a bit more like a Z?

Hmmm, what it looked like when ordering and what turned up does seem subtly different- I can get some more made up, but it would need to be friendly plate maker locally really so I could ask for it to be ‘adjusted’ a touch :P

The fine will be more than the plates cost if HM Constabulary decide to pull you for any irregularities. Those that know will still know…

Anyway, ALP? That’s close to ours (ACP & JLP) altho not bought any plates. Yet.

Discovered that M-sport seats do in fact fit in the boot of an E91! Just… Now for the drive back home from [ref]Bigwinn[/ref] to NL :driving:

Replaced the rear upper ball joints as well as the wheel carrier ball joints.

Did the nearside before and was expecting the offside to be straightforward - not so as it was bloody difficult to pry the upper control arm away from the hub, and levering the rear coil back on was a pain, but got there in the end.

New Zimmerman sports discs and textar pads all round.

Cleaned up the splash guards and painted the Calipers from light blue(previous owners choice) to etec graphite grey.

Reset service info for discs using Topdon Phoenix Plus. Also used this to set the rears to service position.

Top tip. Don’t leave the ebrake on after jacking up. The suspension pushing down but too much stress on the disc retaining bolt which rounded off. I drilled it out and the hub shot down snapping the drill bit. Lesson learnt. New bolts 82p from the dealer. Replaced them all anyway. New genuine front spring clips.

Another tip. After placing the rears into service position it was not enough to fit new pads. I was trying to wind them in but they were on there limit. In the end the just pushed back using a g clamp.

Then cleaned all the wheels polished and ceramic coated to help prevent buildup up dust.

No more squeaky brakes.

Fail: bought the wrong mass air flow so will have to send it back,
Win : found that a couple of the cam cover bolts were loose when replacing the gasket so was probably causing the oil smell via a leak and hopefully it’s not a leaky sump seal
Fail : found another crack in my rear alloy…. Bloody roads

Going to tackle the anti roll links tomorrow... Anyone have any tips or is it pretty straightforward?
I think you are doing the front drop links?
Straightforward enough, but you’ll need to get a spanner behind the bracket to undo the nuts, other the ball joint will just spin. See pic. Tip: have a look at your new drop links to see what you have to grip onto, as you have no line of sight on the old ones.

Unless you have a powerful impact gun.
I just gun them and it breaks the stud of in less than 30 seconds, job done.
If not then see post above.

Treated the wheels to a proper refurb, as in stripped, repaired and powder coated.

AUC Sensor replaced as original was faulty. Wipers off, scuttle tray removed. Location near side. 👍

[ref]jock156[/ref], very nice! Still need to get round to mine. How did you go about attaching them?
