Finally finished my rear brake caliper upgrade today.

Satisfying job and look good . Have you tried them out yet ?

Yes, tried them yesterday, was very happy with the front to back brake bias. I used the Akebono EUR 737 in the rears and replaced the Brembo pads on the front with Akebono ASP1001 brake pads, since they don't make a EUR spec for the front. Akebono said the ASP and EUR spec are very similar material. These are low dust pads. The Brembo pads made a lot of grinding noise and tons of dust everywhere. I'm quite happy with this combination for the street. Thanks!

Refurbished some used 911 calipers, one a reman the other off eBay.
Have you also provide update adapters for calipers ? This breaks are more bigger like serials breaks, or ?

Yes, updated brackets from RallyRoad.net and also new longer brake lines from them as well. I used new SS bleeder valves and new seals and silicon dust covers. The decals are heat resistant for calipers.

Photos of diffuser . Overcast weather so not the best lighting .

Just woken it up from winter and went for a quick pootle around to make sure everything is working as it should.
Now ready for our Sunday blast to the Cotswolds.

Now, I thought the road tax was going up at the end of this month, but no, the cnuts have already raised it to £395!!
God knows how much more it will rise next month!!

Fitted a new Varta AGM battery as I thought the old Yuasa was leaking but looks fine. My mates that are still in the motor trade say “a better starter with Varta”

Turned my coupe into a roadster and I`ve got the cut to prove it :)

Please tell me you will be taking it for a drive like that

Customised the paddles on my steering wheel. I wanted left pull down a gear and right pull up a gear so needed to change the paddles to suit this.

Lots of cutting and grinding of plastic but very happy with the final result:

Nice one .Wanted to do this when I had steering wheel off but couldn`t work out which wires to swap as my wiring was different to other cars that had done it where you just swap 2 wires over . I see you have changed the paddles as well . Did you take any photos of the install ? .

Reading this thread will help you understand the birth of the project:

https://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=140682&hilit=Auto+paddle

To re-wire you can use a multimeter to find out what the paddle wires do. I think the wiring is different on a Z4 auto wheel, but with a photo I may be able to help.

There is so much customisation needed to make them fit. I started off with a normal standard wheel. The rear trims regardless of being paddleshift trims will need to be hacked so best to use normal trims. The back cover will also need to be hacked about.

Maybe I should start another thread but it won't be a guide unfortunately, more like a photo dump :D

The 1 series wheel is what I used for inspiration for the final look:

Just started reading this topic little bit almost every day and after 3weeks finally get readed last page  First thanks for all photos/writings here, many awesome ideas/parts/tips are founded here :)

Just buy my first zed about month ago. Finded 3.0si Coupe black (LHD, manual) with about 100k (60k miles) ODO. Car was quite original shape, only bigger mod is changed coilover kit (HR monotube coilover kit). Now just waiting winter go away and spring come back :)

Things what get done this first month:
- All oils motor, transmission, rear diff (Redline)
- Drain and change new coolant fluids (G48)
- New spark plugs (OE Bosch)
- Open all brakes, clean and lubricate brake "quiding bolts".
- Paint all brake calibers to red.
- Clean engine bay.
- Change all interior bulbs to leds.
- Order new plastic "plug" center console (photo)
- Change new Zhp shorter gear knob, seems awesome update.
- Started wrapping interior door handles and steering wheels trims with brushed aluminium -look wrap.
- Added additional fuse to fuse box, get power to Samsung usb charger, what use BK Bluetooth handsfree/music stream box and give other power to fast charge phone. Both now starts when IGN -power is on and shutdown when take keys off.
- Buyed used Style 32 wheels and take them to sandplast and powler painted.
- Buy new Eagle F1 Asymmetrical 5 225/40R18 and 255/35R18
- Cup holders and retrofit them :)
- Polished exhaust tips and finish them Metal Polish.
- Added 25W Samsung charger and put USB -c cable to glowbox.

Keep going with other things what are my list, hope get everything done before spring :P

Change new battery and try to get Optima Redtop fitted there. Works quite well, just 3d printed little shim part under battery bracket. Seems very nice and now car starting like new :)

Really??? So you’ve replaced Push for down, Pull for up??? Why??? It’s the natural way of things, everyone else is wrong

Am I the only person looking at this as a scar to the back of a minor??? WTF?? 🚨🚨🚨

I have changed it so that the left paddle will only change down when you pull it, pushing does nothing. The right paddle will only change up a gear when you pull it, pushing does nothing.

Every car I have driven with paddleshift operates it this way so that is how I am used to using it.

How did it operate before? I thought pull on left for down, pull on right for up was universal, no? :?

But that’s just conformist! It’s against the motorsport set up that bmw applied originally; push for down, pull for up
