What have you done to your car today?

Done the job before a few times, but trying to slip a card up between two pieces of leather isn’t easy as it doesn’t slide like a normal plastic transmission tunnel being extended leather, and I was also extremely worried about causing any damage.

Ah yes. Think I'd be too! Good job.

Put my ruby red in for the dreaded MOT PASSED one advisory front shocker will need replacing gives me excuse to do upgrade on my front suspension. Now let me see. What do I buy any idea as what to replace them with???? :driving:

Lovely drive accross Dartmoor this afternoon, after a 24 mile walk. :driving: Home quick wash and dry and tucked up until the next time. :D

Wow, you’re walking more miles than my zeds covering lately Buzy! :o
Rob
I have the Dartmoor Highground Marathon coming up. 31st August.

http://www.dartmoorhighground.com/marathon-route

Today was a training run, hid a few LTRs of water at the half way point. Meant I could travel lighter from he start. Just over 1 mile of assents today too. The last climb up Yes tor from the very bottom, is a beasting. Took me just under 7 hours today. Perfect cool conditions though, may be hotter/slower, on race day.
Good luck on the 31st BuzyG  If you get lost or can't remember what Yes Tor looks like then pack a copy of the Yes album 'Tormato' :D The cover photo and sleeve design may come in handy

(Yesterday) I took Zeddie for a spin round the countryside surrounding Oakham. During a stop for a smooch of shopping I came across another sexy beast. My jaw dropped and drool started coming out through the corner of my mouth for an instant.  20190803_112657.jpg20190803_112640.jpg

Having got it a few weeks ago machine polish yesterday and Bluetooth connector fitted today. Happy with the progress so far :D no more swirl marks on the bonnet.

Amazing job, I know the extended leather was worrying. I’m glad Steve did it though as I’d of made a terrible job. However, I am rather good at holding the bits and making drinks!

Autodoc.co.uk has both in stock. £100/unit for Front Sachs shocks, and £86 for B4s.

Thanks already ordered £250 fully fitted thanks anyway

Took my car on its first decent road trip to bed in new brakes and do a day’s work with a friend & client down south. Route was Northants to East Sussex then looped home cross country via South Downs to Arundel, Bognor Regis and on to Southsea/Portsmouth for late fish and chips. 340 miles: 33.2 mpg actual with some interesting speeds recorded.

I had new tires fitted. Finally replaced the RFT Bridgestones (even though they had plenty of tread left) with Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5.
The car certainly feels better with the new tires. It feels more responsive and lighter on its feet, if that make sense.
Smaller bumps that were really harsh before are now slightly softer.
The ride is still pretty hard, though. The car is on 18" and has its original M-sport springs and shocks (78k km).
Bad roads (which sadly there are a lot of in my area) are still unpleasant to drive (but that is probably true for most sport cars).
I wonder how the ride is in newer sporty cars with their enormous wheel sizes?

I do not perceive that the road noise is much lower than they were with RFT, which is a bit disappointing.

When the occasional winding road appears the car is fantastic fun to drive.

What tire pressures are other coupé owners running?
I'm using the same as recommended for RFT (Ft: 2.3bar, Re: 2.7bar)

[ref]fredej[/ref], try lowering the rear pressure to 2.3 bar or lower. Im using 2.1 at the rears and the car feels more supple, comfortable and far less twitchy over broker tarmac, with better traction flat out and more 'talkative' round corners.

Fredej
Dump your msport springs and shocks....the shocks will be completely shot and the springs were conceived by the devil himself!
Eibach and b4's were a revelation.

Yesterday I fitted my steering wheel with a mewant cover (took 2 days!) and a Whiteline front Arb to match up with the rear.
Washed it, went for a test run😈, all was well, took a pic, went home and had a few well earned beers and contemplated the joys of owning a zed.DSC_0794.JPG

Would there be any difference if the tyres were a square or staggered set? I have the staggered set of 18”s on my coupé and am struggling to get a decent ride. Michelins non RFT and M suspension. Suspect I may have to ditch M suspension but trying for the cheaper options first :D
