What have you coded with Carly

In addition to some of the things mentioned I've coded the internal light to dim a lot quicker. This is the internal light which illuminates when you turn the car off.
And I think I also coded the panic alarm? That was just for fun!
I also disabled the unlock of the car from inside. i.e. If you've got the roof down you can't lean in and unlock the car. At least that's the theory. Can't remember too much as I did them all so long ago!

Great for diagnostics as well!

my phone has the new USB input USB-C or USB type C

so i can't use my phone. I suppose I could dig out my 4 year old tablet if i can remember where it is. i'd also need to get the bluetooth version for the wifes car. disappointing there isn't a 1 solution fits all

I have the Samsung S7 edge and use the micro USB adapter that came with that to connect it to my B Cables silver cable. So you should be fine I think.
I got Carly after seeing it in action at Mike's (Ducklakeview's). I though that's a damn sight quicker than ISTA D/P on a laptop and also easier than INPA. However for fault code diagnostics I still use the laptop based stuff as Carly wasn't able to read properly some codes in mine. For example I needed a new front light level sensor, ISTA/INPA read the code no trouble, but Carly didn't. It told me if found the a code but couldn't recognise it.
Also the Carly option for DLR's basically has the lights on no matter what position the light switch is in (including off). Where as the ISTA P version just has DLR's on the dip/normal beam position with off still being off. That said when I went back in with Carly after activating with ISTA P it did show DLR's 2/2 active but 1/2 inactive, despite Carly saying you must select both, so maybe that's the trick to it and it may be worth experimenting with other options that also say you must have certain other things ticked just to see what happens.

Is anyone using Carly on an N52 engine and able to see 'live' parameters? I've got the ios version but get nothing on parameters... coding and fault finding works fine though!?

I did the same as Mike, (removed the ones I didn't do):

I've done, on mine;

Boot locked when car locked (ie internal release deactivated)
One touch up on pass window (for some reason most E85's don't have it enabled)
Indicators flash when locked/unlocked

Windows continue opening/closing when ign turned off
Windows work with door open
Windows continue working for a time when ign turned off

Wipers go to intermittent when you stop moving
Wipers continue their sweep when ign turned off
Mike
Disabled the annoying 'reminder' that goes off if you open the driver's door with the keys off but still in the ignition. Meant to stop you leaving the keys in the car and walking away, but just makes it sound like every Jap import I've ever owned.
Coded DRL's, but as the halos are wired to the sidelights I can't see any way to get them turn off when the headlights come on.
Didn't code foglights to high beams as it's illegal here (and why would you want them on with the high beams anyway? Are the high beams that bad they need help from the fogs?? :?).
Also used the app to check and clear the ABS/DSC error codes after getting the pump repaired.
Very handy bit of software and worth the price I reckon. Added bonus is you can program other BMW's with it, so you can share the coding/diagnostics love with your neighborhood BMW friends :)

Coded the Roof Open/Close from the key
Audible lock/unlock
One touch up on passenger window
Electric windows with ignition off (1 minute)
Wipers continue on ignition off
Roof continues when driving off

Someone tell me to stop carlying around.
I have tried the brake force activation to give me doughnut rear brake lights.
Brake lights and rear tail lights come on together.
Anyone know if this is not legal?

Laws appear to date back from 1989 so I'd think as long as they are red and the rear lights still work independent of braking you'll be fine!

http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1989/1796/contents/made

All I've coded on my Coupe is the boot now unlocks on first push of button with no delay and the windows work without keys in ignition and continue after you open the door... coding angel eyes as DRL's is pretty cool looking if you have angels! I don't... :?

Alarm chirp when locked, but not unlocking
Windows continue opening/closing when ign turned off
Windows work with door open

Drivers comfort entry (window lowers when door opened after double tap on unlock - Handy for getting in when space is tight)
As above, but window then closes when door closed
Doors auto lock @ 2mph
Wipers go to intermittent when you stop moving
Wipers continue their sweep when ign turned off
Hazards double flash rate

Think that's my list complete...

Mike

Coding options which I've done (in addition to Mikes list). No particular order.

1. Number until headlight cleaning - 9th interval
Clean the car frequently anyway and just ends up using up my washer fluid!

2. Comfort open using remote
Windows go down on fob unlock (and hold)

3. Comfort close using remote
Windows close on fob lock (and hold)

4. Automatically lock vehicle
If I've unlocked the car by mistake and not opened a door the car locks itself again after about a minute

Played around with brake force in Carly but never got it to work, let me know if you've done it!

Thought it might be an idea for us to share what we have coded with Carly. Just so we all get the maximum from it.
I have just done mine for the first time.

1. Roof close on the keyfob
2. Roof open/ close while driving slowly
3. Central locking activated on drive away
4. 3 flashes when nudging indicated stalk
5. Audible and visual indication when car is unlocked. Shows when you are in remote keyfob range
6. Front fogs come on with high beam

Hi all,
I can't manage to get number 6 working. The fogs with high beam.
I managed to get them to turn off with high beams but not to come on.
The option within carley is called 'front fog lights with high beams' which sounds like the right place to be. But in the description it says 'front fogs are automatically turned off when activating high beams'

Am I looking in the wrong place?
Cheers,

This may seem a little odd but can Carly program the Speedo to be illuminated all the time, not just when the headlights are on?

Don't think so. Not with Carly anyway, it's really good but limited. You'll need NCS or something like that. They're a bit more advanced... more options and the like

:( Ok, thanks.

Are all optional extras necessary when you buy brand new? Coding options lets you customise YOUR car to suit YOU. You definitely don’t need all of them. But some of them just make things better, easier or more convenient :)

Are you guys all using the Carly app on your mobiles? Is the bluetooth connection just as good as a cabled connection? Also is the coding pretty straight forward to complete?
