What did you do to your Z4M today?

Failed its MOT two weeks ago on all 4 tyres, perished and below the minimum tread depth so bit the bullet and decided to refurbish the alloys and replace the tyres at the same time.

Powder coated in Sports Silver (closest we could get to the OEM colour as nobody seemed to have the correct colour code) with Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tyres ordered from Camskill with a £60 cash back from Michelin.

Very happy with the results, my bank balance not so much.

Ordered a new set of ///M badges to finish them off, hopefully they will be here by the weekend as the wheels look naked without them.

Where did you get the badges from mine are looking a little faded?

Packed the M ready to depart for the ring early tomorrow (Friday) morning!! 8)

Weather looks mixed, and I'm on AD09's - wish me luck!!

New Bosch S5 battery fitted. Starts with such vigor now.
Then nipped for a wee drive with a pub stop.
The old battery was a Genuine 2018 dated one but was not working as it should.

Have you got a link to those? I cracked my undertray the other day on a car park entrance, will need to sort that :(

I have a carbon plenum and it fouls on the edge of the box. I know, I’ve marked the carbon

Ha yes I did the same, luckily I noticed it might be a problem before I did too many miles so only the slightest mark.
Guessing it was about here:

I've used some nylon washers to raise it about 3mm (could do 4mm or 5mm to be absolutely safe) and it seems to have enough clearance now (just) and still plenty of thread used on the strut nuts so should be fine. Not sure if a larger spacer might cause a problem with the amount of thread for the strut nuts. I've put a bit of tape on the strut just to monitor if it's still rubbing longer term. Might be worth considering if you don't want to ditch the strut bar.

Or get the z4 strut bar, which, surprise surprise, clears with no issue. The bar itself is the same (except the colour), the strut tower mounts for it aren't.

If they weren't like hens teeth I'd certainly get one, unless something's changed or you know of one for sale...?! :D

I looked at them side by side a few years back, the load path I guess you could call it was to me surprisingly different, I'd always assumed they were the same up till then (after damaging my first cf airbox :( )
I question their functionality anyway since the strut towers tie into the slam panel. I have the z4 one now, but I've also driven the car with it detached and no way could I notice a difference.
But yeah stick an e46 brace on the car, it looks sweet... shame the e85/6 chassis isn't exactly the same  :)

Yeah it's deffo a less than ideal solution, I just don't like the aftermarket options personally. Agree with what you say, they don't really fit that well, pretty obvious when I take it off and put it back on, it doesn't just go on like it should, almost need to jiggle it around to get it to sit properly.
I think the last Z4 strut brace on here went for something, unpalatable, like £400 odd  Not seen one for sale now for a long time. Interestingly when you put the part number in Google, Sytner say they have one in stock for £300 odd but that's almost certainly an error as sure they've been NLA for yonks. I'll ask my local dealer if there's any in the UK network just to check.

I have considered ditching it next time I get an alignment done as I doubt it does anything meaningful apart from looks like you say. Certainly not worth damaging the CF box for.
You still running the Goke? Hope you and the M are all good anyway mate, it was hearing yours round Combe that put a box on my wish list in the first place
