You MUST use headlights when visibility is seriously reduced, generally when you cannot see for more than 100 metres (328 feet). You may also use front or rear fog lights but you MUST switch them off when visibility improves (see Rule 236)

many people use fogs when visibility is far more than 100 metres though

they just blind in rain :(

people at traffic lights, who wait for the car in front to move 10 yards, before they decide to move, meaning 4 cars get through before they turn to red again!!!

My two pet hates are:

1) Muppets on a Motorway who pull out into the fast lane at about 60mph when you're 'makin progress' just as you're about to pass, oblivious to everything else around them. It has been irrelevant what car I've ever driven, even when I had my shogun, though with the two 100w retina burners on the rear view mirror horizontal used to give a satisfying payback

2) Snails... ie the caravaners who insist on driving at the busiest time of the day on country lanes at a speed slower than an asthmatic ant on crutches

Of course you should put head lights on when visibility is bad, im specifically talking about when it is raining and people put their rear fog on. It dazzles and is distracting.

Ah, that reminds me of driving in Italy years ago. When the lights turned green the whole queue of traffic used to floor it at the same time! You didn't want to be slow off the mark or they would really let you know! :D

People smoking while driving, especially when they flick the fag out the window!

People who speed up , slow down, speed up, slow down etc

cutting roundabouts

people who toot in anger. If its a dangerous situation, concentrate in getting out of danger rather than tooting. If its not dangerous, dont toot. How does it help? It angers the other driver, distracts others etc.

TAILGATING. This is one of the very few things which will bring out road range in me.

People who jump queues of traffic. They wouldnt do it in a queue without their car, so why do it in a car. It makes everyone upstream have to wait even longer.

Im getting angry thinking abotu tailgating  :headbang: :driving:

What are people's views on what we should do when there's a lane closure and cones are out to make us merge into 1 lane?
I think everyone should fill up both lanes and just merge where the cones are.
Why merge early and then get annoyed if someone passes you in the lane you've left empty.
Then you get vans and lorries creating their own rolling roadblock.

Some of you lot sound like angry, impatient drivers.

There are only two things that annoy me on the road:
- People that don't know how motorways work - the inside lane does not have syphilis.
- Caravans. They should be banned from roads from 8am to 8pm.

So am I in heavy spray the normal rear lights can be almost invisible .Now if you are talking about using fog lights in near or darkness then you have a point
Try detaching yourself from their rear bumper

Trust you know in France that you MUST queue in the lane that's free. Get caught pushing in, big fine & a long wait on the tarmac by the side of the road.
