mines going thursday too..... :-(
mines coming in a £780 i think it was..... given very strict instructions for the car and what i expect. if their are any issues ill make a phone call home before-hand to tell wifey i may not be back for a few days....lol.
on a serious note, always nerve racking.... inspection 2 at 12800 miles ..... waste of money but.. I'm keeping to the exact schedule.

I may SORN mine over the winter. The Cooper S Countryman will be with me in a few days and that should be fun enough in the winter to take my mind off the M. Or maybe not....we'll see!

I've a funny feeling he may have been quoting without VAT, but that was before I told him I was supplying the oil anyway. It'll cost what it'll cost - I may be using an Indy but I shan't be skimping and I've got the money plus some danger change, of course

Thought someone else had?! Hope I haven't jinxed it then! Seriously though there's thousands of these motors around an extremely small proportion do have problems, the vast majority are fine. Many many examples of the s54 well into the 100s of thousands with no problems. Of course we all hear of the small number of those that do go wrong. To be expected really.

bing I'm taking mine to redish this year! partly as i wanted a long drive in the old girl and secondly because they have a really good reputation and i LOV the way the cars are treated during the process , all wrapped up and really cared for.... they aren't cheap but i like they way they work simpsons are great but i need to forge new relationships... but i agree, insp2 is expensive and nerve racking, I'm looking forward to getting the diff and gearbox oil done mostly, needs doing now.... Cars like this need their maintenance. Im also looking forward to using the new oil bmw are recommending as id like to think their may be some new additives especially after a conversation with a member here in the "know".
I thought about taking mine to ETA Motorsport up at Brands where inkey$ takes his, but I'm happy with H&C for now... and it's a short walk home rather than a 30min drive there and then a right pain to get back. I'm also looking forward to experiencing new diff and gearbox oils - I wonder if it will make a huge difference ? I guess it should after 8 years and 47k miles. As for oil, because I managed to pick up enough Castrol Edge for £20 I just went with that. It was only changed 6k miles ago anyway
The guys at H&C know how much I love my car, they'll do a good job - I phoned to tell them I'd forgotten to leave the log book in the car and he said he was just taking it inside, and as it had been raining he'd leather it down for me... As I shouted "no no no no no no !!!" down the phone all I could hear was gales of laughter :lol:
I always hate going into the garage and seeing it empty though...
