Virus worries

Anyone got any theories on how the Germans seem to be keeping their death toll so low? I wondered if the virus is targeting certain races more than others? They did apparently get off on a good foot with testing, and they have oodles of hospitals, but even so, it's night and day compared to other countries.

Like with the Japanese, they are more used to following rules. Hence Japan being much, much better than the nations around them and I suspect the same with the Germans.

Yeah Germany, Japan, sensible countries, Great Britain, let's bleed the supermarkets dry and have a jolly weekend socialising :x

All indication points to the blip being a high % contracting it were younger in age hence a higher survival rate / lower death rate .
This could alter significantly if the spread hits a different age group though their isolating seems to be far more stringent than the Spanish , Italian or more worryingly the UKs .
Seemingly the biggest at risk category is male , over 6o , overweight & with any respiratory illness . if you tick those boxes then ISOLATE

Meanwhile here.
We were watching planes flying overhead yesterday and getting ready for landing at Heathrow. After all the stages of isolation the ship travelers and spanish holiday makers were forced to stay in isolation and yet we still want the people to come in and potentially infect anyone in their path to home. Its shocking in every level. :headbang:

Worrying times indeed.

I got a message from Sytner earlier that included these words:-

"We are very much aware and respectful of the Government’s message that all UK citizens and businesses must play their part to protect the most vulnerable in our society and to ensure that the NHS has the ability to care for the inevitable, increased number of patients that will be affected by the virus in the coming days and weeks.

For these reasons, the Board of Directors have taken the decision to close all Sytner Group showrooms to customers from close of business tomorrow, Tuesday 24th March.

Our workshops will however remain open until work already booked in is complete and will then support the sales teams to prepare purchased cars for delivery to our customers. Once this has been completed, our workshops will close to customers, with a number remaining open to support key workers.

We will also continue to support customers who wish to purchase cars, by launching a buy online option on our website. This will be live within the next few days and will allow you to obtain a part exchange valuation, apply for finance and have your car delivered, all without having to leave your home."

Hmm, MOT tomorrow, now what ...
My Zed is/ was to be Saturday and tried to bring it forward , but they were swamped. So, guess, no MOT and Sorned now . Still its £40 mot plus £30 a month VED in the food pot for now..............

It is my mother in law's car that I picked up today for the MOT tomorrow. Guess I will have to keep it on my drive then as otherwise it will be on the road so couldn't be SORN-ed then.

What I will say is sorn your cars if not using them, my zed won't be being taxed until this is over and the rest f the fleet will be taken off the road.
No point wasting money when you can't use them :|

Meanwhile in Poilce canteens up and down the country their thinking huh, what, no-one told us :?

Should have been done 2 weeks ago instead of dawdling, plus still keeping parks open for excercise :headbang:

So reading between the lines this is initially for 3 weeks?

Can we still wash our cars on our driveway or is that banned?

Should be ok so long as its not a communal drive and you use disinfectant to wash the alloys :)

I was thinking if you just want to go out for a drive and staying in the car as you can still go for a walk for excercise but I guess you can only drive if its a necessary journey.

Just had an email from Lookers BMW that all dealerships are closing in the UK until further notice.
