VERY VERY nearly finally bought another car

That's a stunning colour combination Ponrew.

Shame there won't be a V8 soundtrack, but from what you have said it sounds like it wouldn't have been cheap!

Looks like the rear seat passengers will have to adopt the 'Lotus' position or put their legs over your shoulder. That could be interesting. :)
They are a reverse tardis! Massive outside and tiny inside! My M4 is bigger inside than the 640d was. They are lovely cruisers though for sure. The 6 series is a great looking car to my eyes too.

After all the V8 noises in M form
Unfortunately it was a NO from my bank manager (remember those), Uncle Boris and niece Greta. I can always have a bespoke exhaust made to simulate the noise

of course. Does your one come with optional snorkel and flipper?

No they were too far down on the famous BMW options list IIRC. I have, however, managed to source BMW's secret design inspiration for the F12/13 6 series. Here is a photo. Like all concepts they dropped the flag and searchlight but otherwise it is quite true :slipper-launch-main.jpg

Why / how did you end up in Fenland?
Houses were cheap. It should have become apparent, especially with this thread, that I am a cheapskate

Lovely motor. 8) and it was going so well until the pic with the roof up. Lower it at once Sir. :chairfight:

Had the RAC inspection done today.
No go!! :headbang:
Seller is furious.
I had it booked for collection tomorrow too, they ain't exactly happy either.
Feckin cars and feckin people. I'm gonna buy a moped. :(

Come on lets see it.
It's not terrible, just not as good as I want.
Obviously a driveway inspection, not on a lift.
Bearing in mind it is a 6 series BM where nothing is cheap to repair.
Highlights (I haven't had the full written report yet just a phone call with the inspector)
Oil leak from bottom of engine (quite severe) so could be head gasket
Front suspension had knocking during test drive (could be springs, could be shocks, could be linkages, could be feckin anything TBH)
Rear glass window heater element not operational despite electrics all good(new screen potentially)
Almost all body panels have had minor repairs and signs of new damage (that to me points to a careless owner/ driver) bearing in mind the guy has owned it for 7 years.
Too much of a risk for me. Could cost £5k easily to rectify faults on a not cheap car in the first place.

I've now got the seller saying the RAC were lying and wanting to make a complaint, the RAC saying the seller was trying to hide things and distract the inspector. I am not getting caught up in it especially as I'm the one out of pocket :o

Based on that report you should be able to get your deposit back?
