VERY VERY nearly finally bought another car

Well after all the discussion and pontification; not to mention enquiring about countless cars which for one reason or another were not good (your average car dealer has no morals and really couldn't give a toss about the cars he sells), I have paid a deposit on a car subject to an RAC inspection. It is a private sale and so far seems a really good 'un.
It isn't an M6 or an M4. It is a BMW and it is a four seater convertible.

True to form Pondrew, go though all the options, narrow it down , then get something else

Hope you enjoy it :driving:

If this turns out to be a diesel 2 series you’re getting pelters!
Nah; it's proper petrol and further up the number spectrum :D

Jeez! There's more rear legroom in a Z4 than that!

Looks like it should be moored at Monaco. :poke:

Is it the 6-series, with the retracting rear window thingummy?

That’s a proper executive barge there sir- you’ll be wafting around in style!

Looks like the rear seat passengers will have to adopt the 'Lotus' position or put their legs over your shoulder. That could be interesting. :)

will be very much at home cruising the french riviera. thats where you live, right
Good as. Lincolnshire, the riviera of the fens :D
Rear legroom is pretty good actually; the picture shows the front seats right back. I ain't particularly tall and the wife is a midget.
It's a 640i with the N55 engine.
The M6 was stupid running costs; £300 for A brake disc :o and the 650i N63 engine has some major reliability issues and is still too expensive to run.
Don't worry boys and girls; still got the E89. I will look at the 6 as a 'grown up' Z4

Deep Sea Blue. Pretty car (boat), thougha405e9b21ca749d48b2ca5fff9f4b68f.jpg

Congratulations- looks very nice! Love the wheels.

I was hoping that you were trolling us all and was going to post a picture of a XR2I convertible in the end!

And that is why I didn't get a C63, or an M car. £157 insurance for me and the mrs on the 6.
I did some research on parts (Autodoc) and the 6 parts are mostly about the same cost as the E89.

It's true but I buy a car for my heart and not my head.

Looks like you have pretty much got the best of both worlds there.

I hope you get some nice sunny weather and some dry roads to enjoy!
