makes a big difference tho! installing is a PITA.

now while we are here..... tell me exactly what i got to do to install an aftermarket steering wheel, i cant have Air bag lights on, if the lights on, its no deal.

Easy enough, you can code the airbag light off.. Though on mine It wouldent have mattered as I am not using the OEM dash.

Vanne as per your pm...

Here's the s/c race brace. Definitely needed for hard use.

Hope this helps.

i finally got around to installing this yesterday.. impossible to install with the Power Steering reservoir in place. had to remove it. what a frikking hassle. thanks for the pics Byron,

Hell yeah.. after hooning up and down the service road a bunch of times, and blowing up the expansion tank.. lol .. Now time to get some paint going..

And yep true believers, thats yours truely with the cammo shirt on. :D :poke:

Removed a few of the legacy gauges i modded in a few years back yesterday and stripped the loom a bit further as the rain module doesn't need to be there. Prepping the dash loom for the Racepak today.

cars absolutely filthy atm.. lol

I also got a new race batt. The braille 11 was on the way out. sad really as they are pretty expensive. I opted for a LiFePO4 battery, due to the safety aspect of not wanting to overheat and catch on fire/punctured. weighs in at 3.2kgs, so lighter than my old Braille.. absolutely amazing battery. The form factor is larger than the Braille, but the weight is much less.. easy 1.5kgs saved. thats a few more big macs i can have

Coming together now Vanne but have to ask of all the colours why black it must get very hot ?? :heat: :heat:

Lol, thanks Bart :)

Okay, just a heads up for those looking at a racedash.. Probably best to stick to the tried and true methods like Aim, as Racepak isn't really compatible with our stock ecu. works great if you have an aftermarket ecu, but not for stock. Probably should have known that as there are zero write ups for BMW with rackpak dash'es. The older ones do work, but your having to buy sensor modules. Its an expensive exercise.

In cohorts with @martyn here, hopefully make some headway. I gotta say as well, the support from either Holley or Racepak is frikkin non existent.. stay tuned.. failing this I will go the mxl2 route. I do like the Racepak look better, but if I can't get it to work I'll be forced. There are options for obd2, but I'll need canbus.
