It's curing atm, I learned a few things about dry carbon layups and very easy to work with compared to fiberglass. Sorry about the many pics, thought they could tell the story better than me dribbling on about some rubbish.

Estimating this to be extremely light.

How did the door card turn out, were you happy with the finished product and was it strong enough?

Were did you buy the kit?

the mK I door card wasnt strong enough, and got slightly damaged when removed from the mould.
MK II being worked on atm

Vanne, you could add some honeycomb in areas to add stiffness if that's an issue. It will add next to zero weight too

and then we started stripping panels... :tumbleweed:

So I am currently on holidays from the frikkin slavers.. awesome time to start work on the car.

Really loving working on this squirrel. Such a nice way to relax and get a bit grounded.

Took a day to strip the car from panels. (Figure one side at a time is s good start.) Then started matching up panels..

Result after today, pretty good.
This kit fits really well. Surprisingly well actually.

Gotta love working on the car...seriously loving it. So nice to relax, though i am pretty rooted after today. I am pretty sure the missus wished i dropped the car off and get this done by a shop, but i know they will just fuck the kit up, and i want it done right.

so cant wait.. tomottow start stripping the other side...

Plastics 4 performance windows just arrived now.
Rear and side windows. Budget slider for pax window, pro slider for drivers window.

The front is panelled already from the splitter. The rear not, not sure what ill do about that if anything at this stage. I just want my garage not to look like a bogan gypsy joint with car parts and crap everywhere..

The rear arch will most probably be nicely taken up with the 315 sized rubber slicks that's going under it...
I could fit more, but the cost goes up exponentially.

Ok, so today a few more things went in to the bin. Well kinda.. Mufflers.. conclusion, my race mufflers will be impossible to fit on the setup as the holes for the pipes are located 2 inches higher than where mine hang now. that's not gonna be doable.. resultand.. removed!! bought some new race pipes.. 3 inch inlets 4 inch outlets. these are gonna fit perfect for the hole that's in the gtr rear bumper.

also resultant is a net loss of 6 kgs. (not bad! )

The other issue with the GTR rear bumper is that on the right side , the fuel canister scrubber pipes interfere with the fitment of the rear bumper.. resultant.. fuel scrubber and piping in the bin.. net loss of 1.5kgs.. lol

should prob include a few pics :|

Liam, all I did was cut the fuel breather line at the inlet (you'll find it under the wheel liner. Used some of the pipe and furbished a short breather (with the original breather and some sponge) I haven't plugged the return line yet, still gotta do that. I'll post some pics when I get home.
