Are they big enough to see over the rear arches?!

To be slightly modded ofcourse. :) x 3.

So today the HVAC was slated for removal.. but as per Murphy's law, let's weld in the cross bar and make it part of the roll cage...

And as you can probably see from the pics, the blower/HVAC box is *behind* the cross bar. DOH!!!! :headbang:

Yep, you might see that the HVAC box isn't supposed to look like that... ;)

Detective like eyes might see bits of the HVAC box all over the foot Wels.. lol..

It's an utter pig to get out even with the dash bar loosened off and steering column dropped.

Fancy shifter you've got there! :driving:

Lol yeah the hammer got a bit of a workout. lol.
Thanks, yeah the shifter is a custom piece from the guys that make the Hardmotorsport shifter. Love it, aside from my seats, thats prob my fave mod.

Bought a floor foot rest for when the car is back together.

This is a bit of a crazy build and I love how racecar its going, but I have to ask, are you actually going racing, or is this just for trackdays? Seems a bit bonkers and very expensive for just a track build that's all?!

No point dying bored, with a load of money in the bank

Did you find any billet trailing arms? I had a look and could only find E9x parts from the likes of ECS etc.

I briefly looked into it after finding out that the RTAs are ~9kg each, of which a high % will be unsprung. Yes they do take a lot of load but there must be a big saving to be made by switching to Al. Quite a crude part too - no need for adjustability etc (although arm angle would be awesome).

track build only. Too old and slow (myself that is)to start chucking it amongs other cars. It's a car I'll be passing onto my kid when hes old enough, its going to be a keeper, and as such hopefully a fun car, competitively quick to hunt around the track in. Some guys buy a gt3rs or a gt2 for track days, I'd rather build my own. ;) Can't do racing, my work schedule sux to high heavens and would probably allow me to attend maybe 20 percent of the meets, so yeah. This is just for pure self enjoyment... Sure it might be a bit pricey, but I am learning a lot and once the car is back together, I'll hopefully know her inside and out.

Which reminds me. I am going uniball Rtabs. Anyone recommend me a race set?

And then after the final 2 purchases, i think were pretty much there...

Turner Monoball race Rtabs.

and a new set of Turner 90mm studs and nuts. the current ones have been on the car for 3 years. prob time to swap em out.

And that folks.. is it for the buying spree... now gotta plug everything together.

And then a bit more work on the car today...

Thx for the heads up Micheal.

Tell you what though, I was sweating a bit when I went to start the car after culling all those wires....
:tumbleweed:

Spent a few hours yesterday finishing up the loom. Heat Shrinked all the ends that terminate to avoid the possibility of having any shorts. That took a while, removed a few more wires and removed the Seat plugs.
Today ill re-wrap the wire loom and zip tie it together. ( i wont fasten it down yet as the interior is going to be painted first.)

Hopefully ill also get around to reworking the dash for going back in. Needs holes cut where the cage comes through and has already been cut longitudinally to remove the bottom 1/3rd (where the AC controls were)

My mum (god bless her.. is coming over for christmas, and she is a sewing ledgend (used to be a sewing teacher in the industy) and shes going to help me do the dash.. Love my mum!!! she ROCKS!!

Ag, yep gauges console was custom made in fiberglass, then sanded, wet sanded and then painted. It was one of my fave bits about the car.

It won't be featured on the new build sadly enough. :|

Santa dropped of 2 new rear rims from Sportline. Flow formed lightweight track goodness.

Also removed the cruise control yesterday.

Yesterday's progress...
