Fantastic work! I especially like the bit where you hit that poor house full of sleeping children and old grannies with the full 100 megaton nuclear blast. :D

I have no problems stating that is one of the funniest comments i have read on this forum ever.. i proper LOL'd out loud at work!!

It’s no laughing matter. There are a small piles of dust everywhere in that house now, and the outline of a child running seared into the living room wallpaper.

Currently at EM tuning where Trups is working his magic. Will update this thread later! :D

All fitted and I am over the moon. Big thanks to Trups, cant thank him enough!
The oem hid projectors are utterly sheisse compared to these. You don't know what light output is until you retrofit...

Even though the street is lit and not completely dark the Morimoto D2S 5.0 still outshines. I love how far, wide and evenly it distributes the light. (low beam only)

Looks great - how much in the end if you don't mind me asking?

Trups sent me a message saying he had a Z4 yesterday to make final notes on what needs to be modified for a perfect kit. So he's working hard on his end to deliver the best he can. He should be able to send me a price list quite soon so I can update you guys.

I know that feeling! Enjoy it :D

I know, I feel silly not doing it sooner! The best mod to do on any car let alone a z4.

As for pricing I think Lucas has updated his 1st post with prices. Best to contact Trups directly for any details or specific requirements.

Silly question I guess but how do I know if this light kit can go on the car I’m getting? Did a 06 plate coupe have xenon? My old coupe just had halogen that was a 56 plate was Iran option with lights? Anyone know

Cheers

Yes it will go in a coupe without oem xenons but you will need to budget in other things like a ballast, ignitor and new d2s bulbs.

I suppose the kit reuses the original ignitors?

And what exactly is involved in the £40 charge? Isn't the adapter already specific to the Z4?

Yes, it reuses all the oem xenon parts. Trups had to do a lot of minor adjustments to get mine perfect. Im not sure if he has perfected these yet as I was just a guinea pig on the day.

Hello OP,

I would be interested! I have a Z4M Coupe with Xenon's. Would the kit be available for / fit my my car too?

Thanks in advance!

The kit is specific to Hella 55 projectors, but to get perfect fitment there's a fair amount of trimming involved plus all the spacers he has to source.

Yes, it will fit any E85/E86 with Bi-xenons for sure. I believe it would work in the prefacelift models with xenons too, but I am not 100% sure.

How difficult is the trimming going to be? I'm pretty handy myself, and would actually enjoy doing these little jobs if it is not too complex. A little worried about the spacers tho. Not sure if I will have suitable bits lying around.

Trimming should be straight forward if you have the proper cutting tools, just a bit finicky if you haven't done it before. Trups sent me an update and he will be sending a photo of where to cut the projectors. The spacers are part of a separate kit with the bracket (that you 100% need), cutting is apart. Sorry I confused myself in the last post.

Hi folks,

I got an update from Trups this week.

Parts:
  • Projectors £155
  • Brackets £45
  • Postage £6.50 within the uk or £14 outside.

10% off parts for those who say "Lucas" sent them.
Discount on projectors and brackets if bought in one go, brackets can be supplied on their own but no discount will be given.

Labour (optional):
  • Cutting projectors and setting up brackets £40
  • Full installation £80 (in addition to the £40 for trimming so £120 labour)

A picture will be supplied if someone wants to trim at home themselves.

Other upgrades (optional):

  • CBI bulbs £70
  • Nightbreakers £85
  • Cool Blue Boosts £95
Bulbs are Osrams; we only recommend Osram or Philips be fitted.

My car has halogens, does this fit?
  • If you have a halogen car then Hylux D2S ballasts can be supplied for £120 a set.

Kits can be ready to roll from Wednesday 27/11/19 (I have 10 sets of brackets ready)

If an order is to be placed please email [email protected], if they also have questions they can email in too.

Possible to post the pic up here? I've got a dremel, but wanna see if it's within my skill level to do the trimming.
