Remember guys, its just 14 days to slow the spread, once we get the vaccine everything will go back to normal.

Ignoring the demonising terminology, you're actually incorrect. SAGE themselves have confirmed that since June 2021 there have been more jabbed than unjabbed in hospitals. Though its only right to point out that there are far more people that are jabbed than unjabbed.

I do know that the proportion of patients in ICUs is near enough 12:1 unvaccinated versus vaccinated in at least one ICU that I have direct knowledge of... if you take into account the large numbers of vaccinated in the population then it's even worse.

Where is that about?
I was taking about the UK where the government body has confirmed that there are more jabbed than unjabbed in hospital.

Nationally, many tens of thousands people with two arms and two legs have died of covid for each covid death in a person with only one arm and one leg. If you want to survive the winter, it’s time to sharpen those axes and lop off some limbs chaps :P

Which is exactly why I took care to point out that the numbers involved are different.

It still doesn't change the fact however that a vaccinated 70 year old is at more risk than an unvaccinated 20 year old.

Don't think I could take the nagging, my wife is always less than amused when I come home legless...

The majority of people have more than the average number of legs....

I don’t think that term’s any more demonising than “big pharma” is it?

Opposite ends of the spectrum, big pharma literally describes gargantuan multi national billion pound pharmaceutical companies. The other is used to attack people that dont want this one vaccine yet have every other vaccine.

Well done Austria. The crackpots who suggest all sorts of crazy theories about the Covid-19 vaccine are the ones who are causing the problems in the NHS. The vast majority of people in hospital with Covid are unvaccinated and if you have the vaccine you are much less likely to end up in hospital.
Get the vaccine, open up society and the NHS will breathe a large sigh of relief as admissions fall and the exhausted medical staff can start treating the hundreds of thousands who are waiting for treatment.

I don’t think it’s attacking anyone, it literally describes a group of people that refuse to be vaccinated - it’s not aimed at any one individual.

Then you are either being dishonest or you completely failed to comprehend the term.

"aNtI vAxXeR" is specifically to attack/demonise/ridicule and generally demean people who refuse any and all vaccines. Usually because they hold "conspiracy theories" about the vaccines.
In this instance, you have a percentage of the population who are likely fully vaccinated for everything else but have concerns around the safety and/or appropriateness of a new rushed vaccine with no long term testing. The use of the term "aNtI vAxXeR" in that instance is purely as a means to poison the well and attack the persons integrity/intelligence.

To use an example, we are car enthusiasts not boy racers. The former doesn't hold the same subtext as the latter.

SAGE (Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies) Says you are wrong. Since June 2021 they confirm that the majority of those in hospital with C19 are vaccinated.

UK is 88% 1st and 80% 2nd dose... why havent we seen the "open up society and the NHS will breathe a large sigh of relief as admissions fall and the exhausted medical staff can start treating the hundreds of thousands who are waiting for treatment."?

This is typical misinformation. While vaccinated people do account for most hospitalizations and deaths in the U.K., this is because there are many more vaccinated people than unvaccinated. It's simple maths that the conspiratory theorists ignore and twist to there own agenda.

Society cannot open up whilst a significant amount of people go around at risk of catching Covid and being hospitalised.

Nope, no misunderstanding or dishonesty here. “Some anti vaxxers are vehemently against all vaccines, some are sceptical of specific vaccines” https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/anti-vaxxer

More dishonesty. Really disappointed Rob.
The full quote "Some self-identified anti-vaxxers are vehemently against all vaccines. Some are skeptical of specific vaccines" also this is put in there by a person or persons and are not dictionary definitions but instead examples by users of the word in a sentence, additionally thats an American dictionary.

Cambridge
someone who does not agree with vaccinating people (= giving them injections to prevent disease) and spreads and encourages opinions against vaccines

Oxford
a person who is opposed to vaccination, especially a parent who does not wish to vaccinate their child because they believe it could be harmful

If you are seriously trying to say you dont accept that calling people "anti vaxxers" is an attempt to vilify them, I'm done, I dont have time to waste with that sort of bad faith stupidity.

If you bothered to read a bit you would see that I have twice stated that the numbers involved are very different. Perhaps you should stick to issues more your speed, the best consistency of mud pie for example.

If you agree then I don't see the argument. The facts are that if you become vaccinated then the strain on the NHS is eased because you are far less likely to end up in hospital or die. The selfish people who don't care about clogging up the NHS or for some bizarre reason disagree should be isolated just like in Austria so that they don't risk the NHS collapsing during the busy winter months.

In Scotland the government are actually considering a new restrictions for the unvaccinated for exactly this reason.
