Hey guys quick update.
Just hit 4000 posts! slightly pre-mature but thought I would update
Nearly been around here 2 years now im not really sure where the time has gone but owned the car since 1 Oct 2011, so nearly two years. in that time ive done 12,000 problem free miles (touch wood) and the car just hit 57k a few weeks ago.
Looks like im sticking around for now anyway I have my final payment on my Z4M coupe next month so will finally own the car!! Also renued the warranty its ÂŁ80 a month with BMW which I didn't think is too bad. Planning to have a bit of a life change early next year so not sure whats going to happen but hopefully if all works out the car will go into storage and il get to keep it, cash reserves permitting.
The cars been fantastic, with the only thing ive really done this year is to paint the hubs and re-paint the calipers because I wasnt happy with them the first time round. Still not 100% but they are better. The paint is just rubbish, needed 2-3 coats and the paint thickened within 24 hours yet each coat needed 24 hours to dry just redic

I didn't post because its all been done before but will add within this update.
I also had the CSLs refurbed because I caught one and they had a few small scratches from the previous owner plus I wanted them perfect for Silverstone Classics. First time round crap job the paint gun was 'faulty' and tried to pawn me off so they were acid bathed and done again to a satisfactory standard but I wouldn't recommend the wheel specialist. Bite the bullet do the milage and go with Lepsons, problem is they're a 1000 mile round trip for me.
Great result in the end

The Z has also had a good detail, I spent a week before silverstone completely bottoming it and it looked fantastic.
Thirsty work
Finished
Other than that its been a great year in the Z. The winter was awful all the way to April with plenty of snow but the Z still got loads of use.
Meet wise its been a really quality year, apart from my slight detour... taking 15-20 odd Zs down a country track lane only suitable for a horse and cart. TBH I was shitting myself and the wrath of Craig :telloff: but everyone seemed to see the funny side of things thank god!!

Silverstone Classics was the highlight of the year for me by far it was such a fantastic experience with so much interest in the car and great talking to everyone. Dad really enjoyed himself too and he seems to have got the bug joining Porsche Club GB and hopefully next year we will show both cars. Going for the weekend is definitely the way forward. Also to add to that my friend had his family race team so got in a few areas to shoot pics I wouldn't have done otherwise.
Its been a great year meeting new members and I have met some really lovely new people with a few stand out for me to start with Ste, awesome guy fantastic car he has become a good mate and with some force from him we organised our first meet which will take place next weekend! Fingers crossed for good weather!
Few more to mention JaxZ4 and wife, neilthomas, Zermatt, metal licker, GJC72, RJBaz 3.4 and finaly a mention to Titan who I met randomly at Croft at a driver experience and he noticed my numberplate as I drove past and is really a great guy. Made our day at croft one to remember
Also finally met a few more regulars. Met Bing and Wee Bing who really are larger than life/great banter

The famous Mr Truman and the infamous Immie, Daz who is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet and his car a stunner. Also seeing some of the regs ive already met including OG, Guiseley, JaRed, Craig3.2, Sammyz, Taz, JDM, cj10jeeper great to see you guys again.
Also was really nice to get a few images in the BMW car club mag from the National meet

Would like to say thanks to everyone! For putting up with me and my obsessive pic taking/apple banter. Thanks to the mods for doing a great job of running one of the best car forums on the WWW. Also to everyone on the forum old and new. Still obsessed with the place and although not a prolific poster (unlike some, il mention no names!

) im on here most of the time checking up and seeing everyones cars. Also I have felt the site has changed in the last 18 months, we are like a small family sharing problems, experiences and enjoyment in our lifes outside the Z world and its great to be involved.
Thanks again
Tom
