To update.
Had the car serviced yesterday at Bateman BMW using the £100 voucher from the Lakes meet.
The car was due Oil and Brake fluid service an the service was impeccable. They printed off the cars service history and went through it with a fine tooth comb to make sure everything had been done and then dated everything so I have a complete picture of how the car has been looked after. Then they printed off a service list and checked the car off against it anyway, so although it was an oil and brake service they did a mini inspection of it.
Im assuming this is because I had my MOT at the same time, so they used their own check list as well as the standard MOT to check the car was spot on.
The car will be 7 years old in December and it flew through its MOT not one issue. Which I think is fantastic and a credit to BMW.
Final cost was £323 with the MOT and with the £100 voucher £232 which I think is a great price seen as tho they were very thorough with the car making sure it was spot on.
They also cleaned the car which im not a fan of but they did a good job with the proper two bucket techniques and then dried properly it looked great. My local dealer cleaned it last time it was in and the car came back with a big stone scratch across the front fang of the bumper which I was fuming about.
Compared to my local dealer Lloyds of Carlisle.. put it this way they will never see my money again every time any of the cars ive owned has been to them (2 minis and 2 BMWs) the service has been a shambles with a complete impersonal service.
The only gripe was the lone car. Picked it up got a 57 plate 118i it only had 38 miles of fuel in it and I had a 150 mile journey to do would have been nice to have a car with a tank so I didnt have to fuel it up right away. Also the car was a complete dog, for some reason seemed to have no power in any gear was only doing 30mpg and had the clutch issues juddering while setting off, all the interior was nakard the drivers seat was all ripped, paintwork was dismal. Very disappointed in the car. Even Lloyds give nice cars, last time I had a brand new 320D fully kitted which was lovely. This seemed like the absolute dog of the dealership. NM only spent a couple of hours in it.
Got the car back and WOW, feels like a different animal! Feels like 50hp has been missing! Feels tight as a nut, I was having a slight hesitation issue and the ignition seemed to take 3-4 secs to boot up, but afterward car started instantly hesitation completely gone, so I was well chuffed, didnt think it was an issue and didnt say anything and they sorted it anyway. There is a dual carriage way right outside the dealer and the car actually made me LOL and have the biggest smile and dont think ive done that to that extent since purchasing the car. Another reason to fall for the car again.
Could possibly be because of driving 150 miles in that shed makes you realise what in incredible car the Z4M is.
So all in all A++ if your in the lakes get your ///M serviced there. Its a proper M dealership and they certianly know what they are doing.
To top it off the A6 road back to Penrith from Kendal is a cracker and the car got a proper workout, it was a gorgeous day too windows down all the way to red line noise bouncing off the fells through the valley. All in all great day
