Were any other cars involved? If not sounds like cones could've been bouncing on the bonnet causing the damage?

Yes exactly along those lines. One of those things I guess, thankfully no other cars involved, I think it was cones or a car so she chose right I'd say. Surprising how much of a mess cones can make! I guesstimate around 2ks worth or repairs easy, providing all underneath is OK.

Yip cones are a nightmare. My mums car was hit by a cone being 'dropped' from a flat bed by a bloke setting out the roadworks. Aim wasn't very good and it bounced into the road and smashed up wing mirror and dented the wing. She was very upset as it as her first brand new car of her own.

My mates just been bending my ear as he picked up his new Passat today, drive back home and at 6:30 this evening some dippy bird who claimed the sun was in her eye hit him head on. Ouch!

I'd say parts and labour you'll be looking nearer 2.5k. new headlamp and coding, new surround, new bonnet and bonnet stripes. No other paint work damage I assume? Bit of a nightmare but it can be fixed which is the main thing. It's not nice when it happens but it's fixable and she is alright which is the main thing

... Finally went for a walk around Joe Macari near my house... a few rushed iphone snaps of my favourites!

Almost died!

Went out for a nice ride out on my new bike. Did 7 hours riding through Kent with a mate, no issues.

On the way to my folks house, is a nice straight bit of road. Overtook a black C Class Merc on it and carried on my merry, way. nothing silly.

My folks house is on a blind right hand bend, which has seen many accidents. I stopped opposite the driveway, indicating right, both feet down.

Mirror - clear
Shoulder check - clear
Last peer round the corner. Revs up
Then the merc comes flying past me, on my right (the way I was indicating and turning!) and swerves around me! :-o :-o

I pretty much brown my pants and manage to hit the brakes. He must have been doing about 60mph and been chasing me, which I was unaware of. His mirror missed my handle bar by inches and the door knocked my knee slider!!

Merc goes round the blind right hand bend on the right hand side of the road, hammers the brakes and I hear the ABS go as another car approaches coming towards them.

Usually I would be livid and try to catch a plate, but to be honest I was just glad to be alive!

hah no - pic of my mate. he was trying to pick out a new runabout for commuting... ;)

Was a lovely huayra! They also had a Zonda F and a Zonda GJ.

Yesterday I finally got round to addressing the swirls I had on my paint using a DAS-6 PRO Dual Action Polisher. 6 hours later and with aching arms I finished. Also cleaned and treated the hood with Autoglym Fabric hood cleaner.

I know I should have got some before and after shots, but I am really pleased with the mirror finish I achieved on the bonnet, which was previously a dull satin finish
