I would give BBC1 Watchdog a shot, they seem to enjoy having a go at the large motor companies.
Just send them your story, what have you got to lose. link
Hadn't thought of that and you're right, I don't have much to lose

Maybe not.... I just spoke to someone else who had a similar battle with BMW ended up with a "generous" (over 2k discount from a 3.5k bill) no mention of full and final or any other waiver alongside the settlement
Thats really interesting and good to know  I have also made enquiries through a friend of a friend to find out more about it and waiting for a response

I recognise you are speaking directly with BMW but have you tried going to another dealership?

Sometimes the warranty people are much better at articulating themselves from one dealer to another.

I speak from experience in relation to a Z4M and broken rear springs.

That is my next move as I wouldn't use Lancaster again. Specialist cars is closer to me and although BMW at first said I had to use Lancaster they have conceded, my first minor win.

Well, after kicking Lancaster BMW into touch and going to see the body shop at Specialist Cars in Hitchen, they have only gone and got it approved under warranty! They were extremely helpful (unlike Lancaster ) and a brand new roof is heading my way at last :D

I would say that's a result - I wonder who'll get your business from now?

I know who won't get it

This whole saga went on far too long and was time consuming and stressful! I wonder how many people would have just paid up instead of being a stubborn dos like be but the end result IS the right result I believe

Good news Paul, strange how the other party just blamed BMW instead of admitting they were refusing it themselves
Just goes to show how roofless the other guys were...
Rob

Glad that's sorted.

Some large companies seem completely unconcerned about customer service and repeat business.

Great news  and may I cobgratulate smartbear on his pun! Made me laugh!

Well done Paul for sticking at it !

Now there is a precedent for BMW accepting this as a warranty claim hopefully the next poor sod won't have to go thru the donkey work you have had to.

Next job.....

Get the wheels done.
