No M is worth anything if it as more than 30k on it
If the wheels are wrong its worthless
If the exhaust is wrong its worthless
If the oil was changed by someone who doesn't wear BMW approved overalls its worthless
If its not been stored in a heated garage its worthless
Common sense (for those of us that have any) dictates that 70k is nothing for a car like this. Jut have a look on M3 cutters, they have plenty of 100k+ E46 M3's going strong, and as the cars get older more and more "miley" examples will be floating about. If the cars been looked after it shouldn't be an issue.
The attitude of "I'd not buy a car with that mileage" is just moronic. Correctly looked after an 70k example should be just as good as a 30k example, in fact, the 70k example would have had a lot of service parts replaced that maybe the 30k car wouldn't. Granted the 70k example is worth less, but to rule it out completely is silly.
Its sad but we seem to have an amount of snobbery displayed by the owners of Z4Ms, and its really not appropriate. While the M is nice, its not "special".
I'm glad you said this Steve. Whilst it's not fair to tarnish all with the same brush it does seem that unless an M has less than 3 owners and covered less than 40k then it really is fit for the knackers yard.
Whilst there has been little from the owner (Paul) in terms of the servicing and maintenance I am sure he would be willing to provide details (as previously mentioned) to anyone who was serious about buying it.
He spent many hours when the car was delivered to him, detailing it and getting it tidied up as to how he wanted it. He's now been given an opportunity to buy something different and there seems to be a strange response to the advert.
I'm sure someone out there is looking for a car just like this one and the mileage won't bother them one single bit. (If it's been maintained and looked after).
There were lots of positive comments when the owner showed us his work and mods and what he was planning for the car. Some want an original car, that's completely fine. These things are easily changed and it seems priced competitively - even with the galactic mileage.
Good luck to
