Thoughts on this 35is?

Hey all,

Currently in the market for a 35is and have just come across this car. Beautiful colour combination and looks to be in good condition, what do you guys think?

Thanks

Nice looking car & the warranty has to factor in the plus column along with the low miles but £19k for a 10 plate you are certainly not getting either for free
Fastforward 12months & imagine selling the car on ? Even if miles were still low i doubt you would see any interest under £15k unless the market sees a drastic change , if you dare play the game of chance that could be closer to £17k by January :o

I can only agree with Mr Wilks on this car. For comparison mine is identical, colour and interior albeit with 42k on the dash, however I paid 15.5k for it 4 months ago, 20 odd k miles does not equate to 4K in price. You’re clearly in the traders trap. Hold out for something private, it’s as slow as a dead thing at the moment with nothing of any real interest on the sales sites but it’ll change, just gotta sit tight.

Remember, also, to factor in changing the wheels - the cracking 326s - and, if it's on runflats, those, too.

That said, it's a good-looking, well-spec'd, low-mileage, well-warranted 35iS and, if you like it, buy it. Haggle hard and then forget the price.

One oddity, though, why does it have only "cd changer preparation?
:?

Thats a lovely looking 35is inside and out. Guess it'll come down to whether you're buying with your head or your heart; a sound investment? - probably not, but for pure hedonistic enjoyment it sure ticks all the boxes :driving:

Thank you for all the input guys, I am going to play the waiting game here and see if any reductions occur on this car.

Bet it goes. Get it bought.

Marlon's right. Enjoy it.

Lot of Money for a very nice car, that will depreciate like a brick off a cliff from that start point. Wise to wait a while. I assume you plan to use it regularly? Otherwise why not an ///MC. :)

I would think it depends on how long you are planning on keeping it.

Once the initial 3 or 4k hit is taken (to sell on second hand) how much more will it go down really?

Any car will deprecite by at least that much over the course of ownweship anyway.

It certainly does not look like a nine year old car. (give a month or so)

If you are interested in it, go and see if. If you can negotiate the price down a little, its a bonus.

E89s are not an investment, and will always lose the owner money, so I would go ahead with it if its on budget and its what you want.

It is going to be a weekend car, the M cars are too raw / uncomfortable for me, I just went a nice lazy GT convertible with some power on tap when needed :)

It’s definitely one of the better 35is that I’ve seen on the market.

Shame about the reg as if that was a 15 plate you’d be quids in.

These are really quite rare cars and I don’t think this car is that badly priced. Looking at the pics it looks like it’s been a Sunday car and the condition looks great for that reason.
Go see it, test drive it and see if you connect, if you do then buy it! :D

So I contacted the dealer via web chat this morning just to get some further information regarding number of owners on the car etc. Turns out someone has put down a deposit / is going to see it this afternoon already lol :|

Done you a favour, it's a rapidly falling market & a fool & his money easily parted.
There will be others, they aren't that rare

Yes for sure!

certainly a good time to be looking, but a tough time to sell.
I was fortunate to sell mine as quickly as I did.
right time, right place.
but was also able to get a good deal on my E89.
got most of the spec I wanted, although I was really only concerned about getting the m sport seats.
the cruise control is there, but don't use it.
nav was not a must have for me.
its not a daily, and the mileage was low, so overall was happy. :)

At the last information on the forum, there were 435 35iS's in the UK. That makes it - in any condition and with any mileage - quite a rare car.

In excellent condition and with very low mileage, it then becomes rarer than quite rare.

Go figure. :)
