But what are the reasons for you putting an M badge on in the first place?

I do find 2.0s with their single exhausts that have then stuck on an M badge are amusing and a little sad. There's just no need to pretend, be comfortable with the fact you bought the car sensible for your needs.

Completely agree, I have a little 2.2 and whilst I would love an M, I can't justify the extra cost. So while I will change my bumper and consider aero skirts etc. I consider this aesthetic improvements to the look of the car.

A badge is not an aesthetic improvement to a car, and considered a fake by the people who have paid a premium for the package that comes with the badge.

It was the same on the saxo forum, VTR/S body kits on a 1.1 was acceptable. Sticking VTS all over it, was/is not.

exactly this. to whoever the idiot was who said it's the same as me putting an ///M front bumper on, read this.

getting personal now?

not at all, i just think you're a sad little troll with nothing better to do.

probably just jealous of us z4 owners with ///M parts tbh.

I've said this countless times on here... But the only people who know what "M" means can also spot a fake... Nobody else cares... So you spot a fake M laugh about it and be merry!

and where is it now? mine isn't a lookalike at all. it just has the front bumper, that funnily enough was already on when i bought it.

i'm sure anyone who knows what a Z4M is, will instantly know that mine isn't one. first off it has a normal pre-facelift 3.0 rear.

Lets not let this thread descend in to personal slights.

It's a free country - if people want to do it to their cars then that's fine, just as it is for people to poke fun at them if they do.

All seems a little OT over a badge that has 'no' loyalty to its punters...

 who honestly really cares?

Each to their own, I for one am highly offended by people putting CSL's on, lowering, painting callipers and installing Stubbys.....

:poke:

Things that make you go (H)MMMMM ;)

I have encountered a 2.0 E85 roadster with an M badge in the Rayleigh locality; made me chuckle as the lady tried to burn me off at the lights.... was really minding my own business to that point but would have been a shame to not share the aural delight of a startled S54. ;)

I find M badges appended to the front grill (usually on e46 325/330i) more disturbing; it looks rather silly.

Some things will never change - such as people sticking badges on their car that don't belong on the car....

Who's up for creating a badge removal hit squad? :poke:

Everybody has a right to their own opinion but not the right for their opinion to be respected.

That said, whilst we have had a lot of talk about why you shouldn't ///M badge your non-///M car, there are two sides to every story.

I'd like to hear some opinions from those pro-badgers as to the reasons behind badging up.

8 pages of this rubbish - common guys!!! In the end - SO WHAT! Let people do what they want to do and you do what you want to do! The end. Amen! :headbang:

The word on the street is that it adds an extra 10bhp and upgrades the status of said pro-badger from Pauper to Hero.
