We're all in this together. Being a recipient of the vaccine one is getting acquired immunity for oneself and contributing to the herd immunity for all. Those who deliberately refuse to be vaccinated when it is offered are benefitting the protection from "the herd" but unwilling to do the same for the herd.

But they arent.... there is no 100% confirmed prevention or even reduction of transmission after vaccination, so your argument simply doesnt stand. This isnt the same as polio where herd immunity was a major factor in the banishing of polio from the UK. The vaccine only protects the recipient as far as we know at the moment, we dont know how long that protection lasts (I've seen studies that show a drop in efficacy to 30% between 90-120 days and others that claim efficacy past 8 months).

Also its interesting that you dont have the same contempt for those that dont get the flu jab........ the flu claims tens of thousands of old and vulnerable folk every. single. year. and has done forever yet we dont have mass vaccination programmes and a social stigma and pressure on those that dont have a flu jab...

Weird thats what the bankers said when the taxpayer bailed them all out a few years back, they went back to repugnant bonuses, next to no tax and stupid profits pretty damn quick while the rest of us got austerity.

Yeah I suspect so, the fear porn really does have one hell of a strong grip on people :(

It must be exhausting and I do feel sorry for them (less so when they feel they have the right to force the vaccine on people).

I have asked the question on here a couple of times to what is the opinion of vaccinating children and the fact that no under 16's are being vaccinated but the thread has been very selective with it's answers.

I try to look at things from both sides but all I really see is the young giving up an awful lot of their freedoms to save the old and the vulnerable (which is right) but you would think that they would be a little more grateful for the sacrifices we all have made in the last year.

Absolutely, being called an "aNtI-vAxEr" while being fully vaccinated with the exception of COVID and the most recent flu is quite entertaining

I do believe in vaccines and would always encourage their use BUT I absolutely will not promote forcing it on people or curtailing their rights/freedom if they refuse, that is tyranny pure and simple ESPECIALLY when the thing is rushed through the normal process at a pace never ever before, never even close. I understand and share the concerns.

I talked my mother round into getting one so I can't really see how I could be called one of those but it does provide a source of amusement. They work- you can see the effects but other than lining Pharma's pockets I don't see the reason to vaccinate the young. You can see that they are already planning a 3rd jab towards the end of the year (so unlike polio and the other vaccinations you mentioned) you can see that this is going the way of influenza.

I don't want to be a part of this- jabs each year for a flu like disease that statistically I am extremely low risk for. I have seen the data (it's available raw to view without a media/government spin) Yes it's worse for me than catching the winter flu but not life threatening from a statistical point of view.

It's human nature to be able to "box" people off and put them in camps (Hitler pun intended). It's like if you call/prove someone a racist you can instantly discredit them. The same stigma applies to the "Anti V" phrase- as it's an easy way to discredit someone and not justifying taking on their opinion.

I would fight for peoples right to refuse the vaccine should they wish. It is called freedom of choice. They can hold whatever opinions they like on the data. But their views and decisions come with consequences. Lets see how they react when airlines for instance exercise their freedom of choice and decide they cannot fly without a vaccine certificate. Certain professions refuse to employ people without a vaccination certificate. Lets see how many suddenly have a change of heart.

The airline's will have no say in this what so ever. They need the money so 100% won't be discriminating against anyone. It will be government's that force their hand.

We can't jab children at the moment so shall we start discriminating against them now soon?

Well, don't plan on a holiday here when the travel ban lifts then...Qantas have already announced that it's "highly unlikely" anyone will be allowed on board without producing evidence of vaccination. We haven't had a community death attributed to Covid since last October and having controlled it, I don't believe the government will take the risk in allowing anyone who isn't vaccinated across the border. Incidentally there are already numerous areas in the world that vaccination is already mandatory for various diseases (Yellow fever being the main one) when travelling to/from that region.

I am alright mate. I can sit the holidays out for a couple of years until you all come to your senses.

Makes me giggle a bit when you all say it's about doing it for the heard etc but as soon as the bans are lifted you are all getting on jets to places where the risks are greater for you bringing back strains to the rest of the British public.

Not about then herd then is it you little pleasure monkeys :poke:

I must have missed the part where I apparently said I was going on a jet somewhere........and certainly not the UK at present.

Does this magic vaccination certificate stop you from getting or spreading the virus?

Yep....you won't be allowed in without it. :D

So all under 16s, those with severe allergies and pregnant women are all banned from entering Aus? Just given that they cannot have the magic vaccine is all :idunno:

My understanding is if one person tests positive for covid they lock the buggers up for I think 10 days.

I am very interested to see how this pans out for them. It's going to be a rough old time when the government can lock you up, close your business at any given point.

I apologise in advance here because I have not read the first 106 pages of this thread.

I, as an example, never EVER go to the doctors unless I really need to (twice in 30 years IIRC). I am 53 years old, I have smoked for 38 years and I drink like a fish! More so in the last 12 months!

I hate the idea of needles and am having nightmares about having the vaccine. Suffice to say I am not a hypochondriac.

BUT I will have it, 100%. I am waiting for the call with baited breath. I can't wait. Not for me; not even for my family; for the resumption of life as we know it and to stop the mutations which will, if we carry on, continue this nightmare situation for the foreseeable future.

If we can't control this pandemic ourselves, which we blatantly obviously can't, science needs to come to our rescue. It has, luckily.

Covid 19 (SARS Covid-2) vaccinations should be mandatory! That is not an opinion, that is a requirement of the human race as we know it. Unfortunately in this situation, we live in a "free" Country. Our Government dare not make this vaccine mandatory for fear of backlash from "civil liberties" and Human Rights Lawyers. This is an unfortunate upshot of the world we have lived in up until now. THE WORLD HAS CHANGED since this time last year.

I have spent a great deal of time in the last 11 1/2 months studying all the information of this disease and SARS (which it is a direct mutation of) and if we do not take advantage of the brilliant work the scientists have done in record time, this virus will keep on affecting our lives for the foreseeable future.

As of today, 3rd March, look up what is starting to happen in Germany with a third wave from a new mutant strain.

We have been probably the worst Country in the world (along with the USA) at dealing with this. We have a way out as long as we do it now. PLEASE GET VACCINATED.

Cheers. Rant over
