Your options :-

1,Pharmaceutical Companies making profit

2. Measles Polio Tuberculosis etc etc

I know what I will choose - without medicines we would be back in the dark ages.

Quick question which will help me understand this.

Is it your opinion that everyone needs to get this jab Ronk? Young and Old?

Watch the video I posted about Vit D etc. In Vietnam they have had 35 deaths out of a population of 97.8 million. Not 35 thousand, but 35. Again, when has Chris Whitty come out and said Vitamin D is crucial in keeping you healthy? Please keep up your levels of Vitamin C, D or Zinc? Fresh air and sunlight is key.
Sorry, you're talking absolute bollocks - and not for the first time....

The reason Vietnam has had so few deaths is that they controlled the spread very, very well - tracking people and isolating whole neighborhoods/villages/towns. They hit the lockdown button early and hard - the sort of thing that you can do if you're an ex-communist, one-party socialist republic - and people obeyed the rules to the letter. Right from the start masks were compulsory on public transport and there were military personnel at train stations checking temperatures of all arrivals.

My wife and I experienced it first-hand as we were in Vietnam in March/April 2020 when the first cases started to appear there and saw the initial lockdowns in Hanoi follow us south as we moved to Hue, Da Nang, Nah Trang and HCMC. All our flights were cancelled and getting home took a bit of doing....

Well you have your opinion, you go and take notice of any tom dick or harry and bite your nails feeling the ‘Fear’ getting het up about it all. I’ll listen to the scientists that actually know what’s happening and what they’re talking about, no one else.

Sir if you would seek out other venues of news and information you would find that there ARE scientists and doctors who dispute the information that is being put out as fact by the sources you appear to take as gospel.

It is akin to “climate change “ (which is more bunkum), there are scientists on both sides of that fence.

I think it remains a choice but should be encouraged. I really can’t see what the objections are and especially as it seems transmission of the bug is reduced. It might prevent you passing it onto your granny?

The jab is probably the only way the world will come back to life again. I cannot see any alternative

I take quite a cocktail of meds each day and I’m sure I’m not alone - they are made by a range of pharmaceutical companies . Without them I would be dead!
So my choice is limited, I feel confident in saying you will change your opinions if you ever need any medical intervention - when I was young, I was going to live forever.

[ref]ronk[/ref],

Well I haven’t grown an extra head and feel fine - unlike poor old Argyll Andy who seems to be feeling “peelly wally”

Glad you’re feeling ok, and no extra head.......... yet

To be fair they anticipated that I might have symptoms like I have, they seem to have a reasonable insight to how people with compromised immune systems/on immuno suppressant treatment react. Don’t expect it to be more than a day or so, but as I said well worth it in the long run.

But if she has had the Jab then I guess she will not catch it- otherwise what would be the point in her having the jab in the 1st place? I guess with that thinking I should also start getting the flu jab each year or any additional jabs I can get my hands on to protect her. But I see what you are saying it probably will give more coverage if everyone was vaccinated.

I am sorry you feel like that mate. I think this virus has pretty much burnt through a good proportion of the UK over the last 12 months. I am sure if vast people were re catching it the media would be beating you with that stick for sure (remember the "if it bleeds it leads" headline on the Kent Variant- 80% more deadly or something wasn't it?

With our natural immunity and the jibber jabbers I think we are on the final stretch. There will be ups and downs on the way out of this but it's just around the corner... Then all we have to deal with now is all the psychological damage we have done to our kids, the heath care we haven't given to our citizens for the last year and even having to do simple things like retrain people to not walk in the road when they are passing people.

You’ve gone off topic !

Have you seen the qualifications and experience of the scientific people running the show in the Uk? - they have some professional gravitas and don’t seem to have the need to broadcast on Facebook Youtube.

This pandemic is real - it exists - it is not going away without proper intervention. So ignore any quacks selling snake oil.

The point is, the virus will not have as many hosts the more people get vaccinations
Thus mutations will be reduced - the flu virus mutates each year because it has plenty places to live.
We’ve all been warned that this bug isn’t going away and when it mutates and comes back in a more virulent form that maybe has an effect on your age group - i will see you in the queue at the medical centre.

But as Dirty Harry asked “Do you feel lucky”

Fair play mate. I can't compete with this- they got you good and hard.

As the our current “president “ would say, “come on man!” I did not go off topic I simply made a comparison. Perhaps that is against Forum rules but I doubt it.

With respect to FacePlant and YouTube... I do not nor have I ever had a FacePlant account. YouTube censors just about any video that goes against the “party line “. When they do so it makes the presenter and his or her topic all the more credible in my eyes.

My favorite video platform is BrandNewTube, you really ought to check it out if for nothing else than to hear conflicting points of view. Not just conflicting points of view from some guy on a forum (me) but from credentialed individuals and apparently you find the opinions of such people more credible and I don’t blame you for that, in fact I consider that to be wise. I am not afraid to hear what others think and, believe it or not, I am open to changing my view on any subject given credible information. So far nothing I have read here has done so. Apparently you feel the same.

So sunlight and fresh air are no good for you?
Typical non sequitur, logical fallacy tactic used by a number of proponents of conspiracy theories - make a statement that is obviously correct and then draw erroneous conclusions from that statement without any evidence to connect them.

Just because 'A' is true it doesn't mean that it has a causal effect...

One of the main problems of 'The Internet Age' is it allows those who are not fully connected to reality a platform to air views which they claim are backed by scientific 'evidence' and, potentially, reach as large an audience as those that fully understand the subject. You no longer need to have several degrees, a PhD and years of experience to be considered an expert - a flimsy understanding of scientific principals, a basic grasp of rhetoric and a YouTube channel is good enough...

A small, but increasingly noisy, segment of the population will believe theories that, in past years, would have placed them squarely in the 'tin foil hat' brigade - these are exactly the people who like to spread the pseudoscientific mantra as it lets them claim that they 'know things' from 'sources' giving them a sense of importance.

As you clearly fall into this camp, I'll leave it there so that you can retire to your cellar, put on your tin-foil beanie and exchange secret messages with the other elite.

Ive seen some of these alternative people and they have failed to impress me.

I’ve also noticed that the Original Question was asked on here to determine who was going to have a jab - The Hell No camp has remained stubbornly low at 10% while the yes camp is increasing and is now 75%

You two need to stop flirting with each other and get it on.

The tension here is unreal :P

Without being rude or insulting the only way I can think of you is someone that would agree that the twin towers were brought down by government. It’s that kind of viewpoint of the world. Of course you’re entitled to it, and I respect your opinion but we’ll never agree, never, it’s brainwashed hysteria and mad conspiracy theories, imho. Anyway as I say we'll never agree, which is fine.

If that was in reply to my most recent post, all I can say is that I am glad to hear that.

To hear both sides of any subject and to then form an opinion is all that anyone should ask. Just because others think differently than I do does not make them my enemy.

I have seen more ad hominem attacks in this thread of late and that is disheartening.

To disagree without being disagreeable should be the rule and not the exception and I have generally found that to be the case here. I would hate to see this thread devolve into school yard tactics and name calling.

At least when this is all over we will have at least 10% of the population left
