There’s always been people in control and there always will be - what does does the alternative society look like?

Its already happening, people are finding their own information, they are seeking the truth rather than listening to the likes of BBC, CNN, Fox etc those networks are dying a death and its accelerating thats why big tech is now trying to isolate and eradicate alternative platforms and voices, they are scared

Society needs people in control. There is no argument for that.
What are you asking?

It was a response to old duckmans comment:-

“Evil power hungry “people” whose driving force is power. Power and control, they go hand in hand.”

I disagree, we as a society need people in positions of authority but not controlling the populace. To me there is a very distinct difference.

And what would an alternate society look like? I don’t mean to sound jingoistic but I think it should look like America in her “glory days, if you will, post WWII. Freedom of expression, self determination, pride in country, not overtaxed or over regulated. An education system that taught you how to think not what to think.

I could go on but I think you understand what I would hope to see. Sadly I doubt I will ever see that in what remains of my life on this globe...mores the pity.

My words were perhaps too black and white. But we as humans need a sense of governance and provision. But overall a fair and transparent system.

I think there might be a few Black people over there who might not see freedom in the same way as you!

Another reason why I hate the BBC. These are today's figures:

But this is today's BBC coronavirus page. No such 'good' news. They truly need to be de-funded.

The vaccine, the vaccine, the vaccine.....

Couldn't agree more with that. Whenever there seems to be some good news for a change the BBC always seems to make sure it has that bad news story ready in the locker to make sure the fear is still there. Happened all the time near the start of the pandemic, Teenager of 16 dies from Coronavirus with no apparent health conditions, few days later transpires he did actually have underlying issues, that bit doesn't get reported though. Is obviously not good but a lot of facts always seem to be missing.
The amount of 20 marathon's a week type people that now can't get up off the sofa because of long Covid....Not trying to downplay any of this but it does all get a bit much every day to be honest.

There will never be a perfect society as we are all imperfect creatures.

America has worked hard to correct its mistakes. Slavery and abuse of indigenous peoples can not be denied or swept under the rug. One cannot change the past but only endeavor to do better in the future. I think America as a whole has achieved that goal.

Hate is being used and encouraged by (are you ready for it) those in control who are actively trying to destroy this country from within.

Is ITV news any different?
From the odd clips I’ve seen it’s exactly the same yet nobody bangs on about bias on that channel ?

On the subject of “The jab” I got a phone call about an hour ago, get mine on Thursday.

Delighted to increase my protection levels as much as I possibly can

You particularly spoke of the halcyon days of post ww2 in the USA my comment was to remind you that it was far from perfect for the vast majority of Black people in society - Yet you say this is what it should look like - America on its glory days you said.

It's part of the MSM, so, no.

Understood but just as there are no perfect people, there is no perfect time period either. Generally the time period eluded to was quite possibly America at its zenith. Yes there were injustices then and as long as imperfect people exist there always will be.

One needs to see the big picture, work on what needs to be changed yes but the conditions that promote fairness, equality, freedom from oppression, these and others like them, are what lifts up mankind and allows all to reach the highest level of personal achievement and thereby freedom and independence.

Note my use of the word conditions, society can only supply the conditions it is up to the individual to use those conditions to their fullest advantage. American society has forgotten that principle and has raised generations who expect everything to be given to them on a silver platter. Individual effort and a strong work ethic has all but disappeared from American’s younger generations...I have seen it first hand. This is not a recipe for the future success or even survival of a country or a people.

To survive America needs to resurrect the positive values from its past eschewing the negatives and to quit fomenting division, hatred and identity politics. A society along those lines is what I would long for but I honestly don’t think we have a chance. America and the world has lost its way.

Nice,

Credit when it's due they seem to be doing an excellent job of getting through the numbers with this.

I wasn't expecting them to get anywhere near the numbers they have.

My jab is Thursday 4th Feb
It is a step in the right direction but I would like to see the folk who must go out to work be offered their jabs.
Then the numbers will fall.

As Z4C_er said as part of the MSM no they arent different, I think the BBC rightly gets a harder time due to its position as a taxpayer funded organisation that is grossly disconnected from the very people that fund it

Good news for both, I would be interested in a few details if you can both find out
1. How long do they anticipate it will last/have they had any guidance to that effect?
2. When will you get your second jab and what are they telling people in terms of the effectiveness without the 2nd jab?
3. What are they telling you about being a virus carrier after the vaccine in terms of might you get symptoms if so should you isolate and if so for how long?

Cheers

So Captain Tom has gone. Doesnt seem quite right or fair. The people in his care home should have been doing more to make sure he didnt get it.

1. They can’t tell me and have had no official guidance (I’ve already asked) I did this on the back of information floating around of as little as 90 days protection

2. 2nd jab 12 weeks, appointment already made at the same time as this one. Only proviso is might be slightly earlier if surplus doses at the end of a day/week. 2nd jab gives another 20ish% protection

3. Haven’t asked any of this but told I’ll get any relevant information at my appointment. If they don’t cover this, which I’d think they should, I’ll ask but IMO I’d think if I was showing symptoms I’d be following the same rules as everyone else so not to spread it.

This is also about me protecting those around me as it is me

I will ask - but Im being jabbed by a nurse on a production line of jabbee's
I would also like to know the answers.

I suspect the answers will be that :-
1. They probably don't know
2. The standard reply will be "under 12 weeks"
3. I probably won't get any symptoms of an infection so I won't know if i should isolate _ But I will continue to live my hermit lifestyle
