The country can’t go on stumbling from one lockdown to another lockdown a few months later.Here in Wales we have Capt Drakeford who hasn’t the balls to grip the problem at source.In the South Wales valley’s they must be ignoring all the advice as the virus is rampant,yet the whole of Wales is being punished by put into a three week lockdown.
I will be having the vaccine as soon as I get the call.Anybody who refuses the vaccine should have a mark against their name and refused treatment if they catch the virus,that will never happen though as we are to soft.

That’s not how a free society works Maxman, you can’t put a mark against someone and refuse treatment and then treat someone who rides a motorbike, goes rock climbing or cave diving etc, etc, they’re all very risky.

I suppose then the question remains, what happens to those opinions if you were in then thrust into the unfortunate position of requiring a transplant ?

Just a hunch that you would grab at the chance and be grateful that someone had an alternative opinion.

Will be getting the jab in about the second or third wave. The sooner the better as far as I am concerned. Yes it's a free choice but say there are restrictions placed on flying by airlines. No jab no flight. Wouldn't you feel more comfortable getting on a plane knowing every other passenger has had the vaccination?

Just to show how fickle I am though, previously happy to donate organs which was my choice, now it's compulsory unless you opt out, I don't agree with so have opted out. As I say Fickle.

I must admit to feeling uneasy about the whole process but that is tempered by the what would I say if I needed an Organ transplant?

My thoughts too on if I need an organ . However I do get the unease thing, emotive subject. I’m staying in as I have no beliefs in afterlife etc.

They are not aiming to vaccinate everyone and the vaccine is not approved for anyone below 16 yrs, Complaining about people choosing not to have the vaccine and vilifying them for it is pointless.

On a slightly different note, how stupid are people? Watching the news where they are talking about most of england going into tier3 and talking to people on the street. Spoke to a woman whos father in law died last week of covid and she is sitting in a coffee shop having a coffee!!
Loads of footage of crowded pubs/restaurants, do people really HAVE to go out for food and drink!!
And they wonder why it isnt going away.
I would feel like I had failed in some way if I caught covid, meanwhile half the country are going around like they actually want to get it.

People just don't seem to be taking it seriously enough - I've lost count of the number of people who don't seem to have any idea of what 6 feet means when I've been queueing in shops, despite the stickers on the floor.

Fine if they want to get it, but I certainly don't want it.

Anyway since 2nd lockdown ended infection rates where I live have gone up from 97.3 to 222 people per 100,000 so as from midnight tomorrow I will be in Tier 3 - but at least I'll be allowed out on Saturday now I've finally got an appointment for my flu vaccination!

As much as it pains me to say it I really think it might be a good idea to revise the Christmas plans.

It was the 1st I have heard of it but it's amazing if so.

Just wondering- by any chance do you know if the testing has gone up too in your area? Both seem to go hand in hand.

I don't know. The email from the Borough Council doesn't specify! And it doesn't specify the age group most affected so it could be school-children, in which case the risk factor for old gits like me may not be much worse than it was 2 weeks ago so long as they don't get dragged round Tescos by their parents!

That seems to be part of the problem but I can understand why there isn't that level of detail, given that it is an unprecented event.
