The "Braemar Boogie Blast! 25th and/or 26th August 2012

Tragic news, makes you start to wonder about the wisdom of some of our runs and whether it would be better to have start points and prearranged meeting points so people can drive as they want and not take any risks playing catch up.
Not that I'm saying that is what happened in this case or could happen on one of our runs.

I see you have the fitted the SPOILer.

Looks good mate  I'll have proper butchers in the coming weeks (and keep my cheque firmly hidden  )

Right then, pics. Wee Bing took 590 photos in total :o

I managed to pick out about 70 and uploaded them to Photobucket - link at the bottom of this post. WB and I just picked some of the best ones out to stick below with some comments (there are blurry ones, but they give a good impression of where we were driving). Enjoy !

M3 idiot approaching over the white line... However he seriously grounded the car and lost a bit of his splitter - poetic justice

Once again, fantastic run out – thanks guys :driving: :driving:

The vids are about 13 mins long each (x2), suitably edited but taking an AGE to upload to Youtube for some reason. when I post them I will also put details of 'points of interest', i.e. mins/secs, so you don't have to watch them all unless you want to. Be Christmas before they are up at this rate though

Nice set of pics Bing

WFT was layby-gate then? Sounds like a bit of damage to Andrew's? Hopefully none too serious...

A silly one, it came on to rain quite heavily and suddenly after Braemar so the guys in front of me pulled over in a lay-by to put the roof up. I attempted to join them but didn't brake early/hard enough and pulled into the lay-by where there were some potholes - either upset the braking or my foot came off the pedal. It was either up the verge or into the back of metal_licker and I'd rather bend just my own car. No significant damage, popped the headlight washer cover off, a few trim bits and the foglight pushed out of alignment and the lower left front arch cover is smashed up. Lucky, Bing got some pictures I think, but that Harley crash puts it into perspective :(.

In fairness to Andrew it was a very sudden stop - took me by surprise too, and I think the potholes were deeper than any of us expected - at least 6 inches deep and a couple of feet across. You can see from his lights in the photo above that Andrew was braking VERY hard - we reckoned the jolt messed with the ABS and it was so wet he just slid, could have happened to any of us. Did very well to miss Metal Licker's rear  (though it may have made it more attractive :poke:  )

Great Pics Bing and wee bing,

Those potholes in the layby were verging on the side of small quarrys, they were huge.

Great pics Adamski

Standing far enough away they still looked shiny at the end - a tribute to the amount of wax on our cars :D

Some great shots there, Adamski.... I have to say, the more I see of that red roof, the more I'm tempted to do it :)

Let me be the first, but not the last I am sure, to tell you that in the cloth it looks absolutely gorgeous. jaxZ4 has done a great job of it - with the roof up the car looks unique, with it down the colour ties right in with the seats. I love it
