The Ashes 2013

Hahaha that is absolutely dreadful from Aleem Dar.

Shocking like but evens up one or two of the bad uns yesterday maybe. Huge inside edge running for four then missing the catch on Bell right after that makes things even sweeter haha.

Aussies must be FUMING.

I love it.

Solid knocks from Broad for his half century and more importantly Bell. Best century he's ever scored for England given the circumstances. Answered a lot or critics there myself included.

Aussies and media making a big thing about Broad's non-walking yesterday.

Two observations I have:

1) Bowlers regularly appeal for decisions they know are not out, that's no different to batsmen not walking in my opinion.

2) Aussies seem to be very quick to forget that Agar could easily have been given stumped on 6 and Trott (arguably a more important wicket than Broad) was given a howler in their favour earlier in the day.

There's an article on cricinfo stating that the Aussies didn't "deserve" broad not to be given out, but they are very quick to forget decisions that went in their favour.

Storm in a teacup.

The Broad decision was an absolute blunder.

I cant remember in the history of cricket any Aussie ever walking.

Bowlers always excessively over appeal this is just the game.

Finn can f**k off.

s**t with the bat, s**t in the field and a liability with the ball.

Trelleck, Bresnan and Onions must wonder what the hell they've done wrong.

Great entertainment. I feel sorry for the aussies because they showed so much heart and deserved it based on that. But England got the job done

I think only Adam Gilchrist has 'walked' which he did in the 2003 WC.

Great for the neutral. nerve wracking for the supporter. Gotta feel for Finn - an awful game. The biggest problem with the England's performance was believing the hype. Never underestimate Australia. Sets up a brilliant summer of cricket mind.

Totally agree with a lot of the sentiment already mentioned.

Some conclusions from the first test:

- Finn sodding awful.

- Gilchrist the only Aussie in living memory to have walked. Haddin wasn't going to walk. You can always tell if a Batsman thinks he knicked it - he looks around to see if the catch was taken. Haddin looked back, but made no effort to walk.

- Anyone who thinks Test Match Cricket is dull/boring needs their head examined.

- The Aussies remain more of a threat than everyone gave them credit for.

- Umpires are Human. These things usually even themselves our

- We have a great summer of Cricket ahead of us!

Second test then...

Bresnan in for Finn

Khawaja in for Cowan
Harris in for Starc

England win the toss and choose to Bat

Khawaja looks to be a well organised batsman, I think he'll have a decent career with Aus, but hopefully not a good start today  (famous last words)

I've seen him a couple of times for Derbyshire, not too worried about him atall. Flatters to decieve and doesn't seme to have big knocks in him.

Now THAT's famous last words 8)

After the way that Mitchell Johnson bowled during the Champions Trophy and IPL I'm surprised that he isn't being talked about much. England aren't great against left handers I'd have thought he'd be a better like-for-like replacement for Starc.
