Tempted by this... UPDATE: It's home...

Woohoo, getting excited I bet :D

Just booked mine in for it's 48,000 mile service......

..... that's £597.00 thank you very much madam

So I've just finished off the paperwork, due to collect on Weds...

It's sat all dusty in the dealer's lot, waiting for me to give it a new home...

I'm in a similar position albeit the zed is my latest toy!

Three cars can be a big task to keep clean and it's one of the reasons the zed hibernates during winter.

Oh I do love that colour

It was a close call vs the Hyacinth red as I'd never seen either in the flesh. But then after I ordered the blue, I saw an E class Merc estate in the red and thought.. glad I didn't get that now, looked a bit old.

There was just a glimmer of sun today as I walked around it, the flake is deep and makes for a lovely contrast under the sun, all still covered inside mostly but I knew I'd picked the right colour, the white interior vs blue exterior work really well.

I've no doubt I'll spend the weekend tutting over holograms and swirls from the factory, but at least it will give me something to do polishing it all up to glass like standards before sealing it for the summer.

Very nice Maniac. The colour is lovely and I am sure you will give it a loving home! Am sure the pooches will love going in it as well

All in aid of these little lovelies...

Hooray you've finally gone and bought something!!! :poke:

Joking aside, that's a lovely looking car. Congratulations. I must be getting old - I prefer the estate versions of 3-series, 5-series and their Merc counterparts to the saloons.

Absolutely love the colour  originally I wasn't too sure about the shape of the new C class but I have seen a few on the road now and its massively growing on me big time...is this a stepping stone for the C63S AMG in the future! :D :driving:

Pleased you didn't end up in a 520d in the end because you would have only ever wanted to smash the engine into little pieces because it really is that bad...trust me!

That's a four cylinder engine I assume?

The later 520d's (and 525d's) are 4 cyl where originally they were launched as 6cyls. They're more efficient at 4's but less 'nice'.

I do like the 5 series, esp the estate, but its a bit too big for city use and its approaching end of life now as its been around quite a while. As soon as I drove the Merc, I knew it was just the right fit. Not too large or small, nice to drive, low seating so you don't feel like you're driving a boat etc.

There are quite a few early build horror stories though, wind noise on seals etc, so I hope mine's improved or I'll be adding Merc to my list of manufacturers that wish they'd never heard of me.
