Still can't decide on the red or blue.

I think the blue sways me because when I originally saw the e89, it was deep sea blue with the pure white design interior. Lovely combo... That's what made me configure the w205 with blue and grey/black interior.

That red does look lovely tho. I'm a bit concerned its a fashion colour though and will age badly.
I love red when its all polished up because you always get a lovely shine with it, blue is my favourite colour though and both ours are blue at the moment one is deep sea and one is le mans, still not sure why I like blue so much but I just do!

Mines DSB so bias declared!
I think they are both bold / basic colours and won't offend anybody.

Orange/yellow/gold often cause great debate.

Red wouldn't be my first choice on a new Merc followed by white. Smacks too much of I could just about afford the car but couldn't stretch to a nicer paint job.

I looked at a Sport saloon today in metallic grey and looked very classy, I think Mercedes are currently throwing in metallic paint as part of their selective offers :)

This particular red is an £845 option, the most expensive paint on offer for the model.

I'm going with blue tho.

Not sure if that is just a line to get me to bite, but really?!?!?!?!?! Metallic paint is like what....£600-750....or £20-25 PCM over a 3 year PCP.....not sure that's really throwing anybody's affordability out of the window on a £30k+ car? You do talk some bollocks sometimes Tim.

Personal choice at the end of the day and red doesn't do it for me, looks cheap on the Merc bollocks or not

Tim.

The Red shown on that last picture is so rich and I think it really suits the car!

There was a period when reds went flat and dull with a powdery bloom. I wonder how much this has influenced choice today?

Incidentally, red is not a new colour to Mercedes !

Edit- Have you given up on the idea of a Mustang

I have unfortunately. I need something to cart around 2 dogs and 2 people in comfort as a minimum, for trips away etc and I don't think the Mustang is ideal for that. It makes more sense to keep the Z and get something more practical too. As much as I'd like that 5.0 sound in a morning.

I'm afraid it doesn't look cheap Tim - it might not be to your taste - but i don' t think it looks cheap

To my eyes it does to some it won't, I certainly wouldn't shell out 845 quid for it when there are much nicer colours in the range for that type of motor.

The blue would be a better choice, personally I prefer tungstuns, silver greys etc.

Random and totally off topic much? Therefore totally normal on this forum.
Well it is a sedan, so 4 door, decent power, nice interior, and just stock a pretty good family car but this is a better version of stock

God I'd forgotten how much work went into a new car purchase. I've managed a healthy 20% discount so far. Racking my brains now what else I can ask of them if they won't go much further financially.. Mercedes don't do service packs so that's out... hmmm..
