1200 miles?
As above Ron, was a requirement on ///M cars but not on the 35is.....although it's the same engine as the 1M

1200 miles?
ronk said:Ah, drop the oil at the first 1,200 miles and then 12,000 ?
techathy said:Something like that. Talked to engineers who develop BMW engines. Basically they say BMW push the oil drop windows to their limits in terms of distance, good for fleet sales which is where they make the most money. That said, long life oil is good for 2 years if you don't do the miles. So for best engine condition on distance, halve what ever the car is recommending for oil services intervals.

john-e89 said:Trouble is if you buy a middle 60's-70k mile one, which I fully agree look a good buy, put 15-20k on it, surely you're going to struggle to move it on?
philip27 said:When I started looking for an e89 I found good condition low mileage cars and history went very quickly and we're bit more expensive. I wanted one with sub 40k on the clock. I missed out on about 4 cars before getting mine.
I also noticed that models without the sports seats seemed to hang around a lot longer seems it's like the e85 where certain options are very much must have.
Personally I'm not to worried about the depreciation you get a lot of car for the money. Its really going to depend how long you want to keep it though. I plan on keeping mine atleast 3 years.
I think they are great used buys at the moment. I have had so many nice comments since getting one. The interior makes it such a special car to get into after a hard day. Really need to get my avatar updated and post some more pics of mine.

It's gone, I was interested in this. Chap put a deposit down before even seeing the car (no surprises at that price!).
