I read all these threads on here of how people park miles away from shops etc. Etc. To aviod this. I personally can never be arsed and just slam it in to any space it will fit ... no door dings or scratches

i suspect this is a result of huge insurance premiums and a lack of respect. i think now some alot of decent enough people would see bmw and think holy crap thats going to be expensive and think of the wrecked premium so drive off. its a s**t thing to happen but i expect the way of our ripp off world
 
God i feckin hate people who do this. I am sure i would do more miles in mine but for idiots like this!!!!!
If i go out i need a clear landing spot confirmed by air traffic control or i am not parkin, end off. Never go Hospital visiting. My everyday car was great until an elderly relative was seriously ill. Its now been redesigned over the last couple of months. :thumbsdown:
 
That's bad... Had a couple like that, especially in long term parking, really pi$$es me off and each time costs around £200. Feel for you..

Damn That Sucks !
Over here alot of the crap drivers seem to think Parking Lot contact is the norm ...
Like modern Bumper Cars.
Of course their cars look like Urban Assault Vehicles.
And the Cops and Mall Management don't offer any help.
Parking lots are marked smaller and smaller ..
Plus the Cops seem oblivious to any incidents shy of a bleeding cadaver.

When the wife's Malibu was 6 weeks new ..We went out for a lunch in the Beaches
Leaving the restaurant there was a note on my windshield with a plate # and vehicle description (A White Van !!!)
The driver had clipped my rear bumper while exiting his spot behind me.
There was a sauce sized white scuff on her black paint.
Called the cops ..
Directed to a new "Accident Reporting Centre "
Got in line to file a report ...
Got in another line to wait for an Assessor ..
Waited again for my report..
When I showed them the note from my window ..
They weren't interested because the kind citizen had not left their name so it wasn't considered evidence !!!!!
Gotta love privatization and a whole new kinda bureaucracy ..
Wasted afternoon ...
Enough frustration to learn this life lesson ..
It's every man for himself ! (or herself)

Gawd ..I need a drink ..
And maybe a baseball bat

If my daughter said that this was car park damage after she had borrowed my zed........ I wouldn't believe her!

Looks like a gate post or a bollard to me. it too tall to be a vehicle and its rough. not what you would expect from another vehicle bumper IMHO.
 
Really feel for you, i also try to park away from others , so far have been lucky...scum bags :thumbsdown:
 
Car now at chips away.... Hopefully to be returned on Tuesday!

Will update with pics and hopefully some rave reviews about chips away in Hailsham (Watch this space)

I will drive around for ages and only park when im happy, drives people in my car mad :D but touch wood no dents or scuffs, and i actually moved from my flat after 2 years as was only unhappy with having a s**t car on left and right of me so i moved lol

Some of that is common sense, but some is just luck. When I had to take a decent car into a tesco type car park I always used to park near trolley bays. My logic being that if you are near a bay that anybody else parking near by will probably return their trolley as it's close by rather than just dumping it because the trolley bay is to far away.

Unless you can find a bay that is on it's own it comes down mainly to luck.
