Hi I'm newish to the forum, how useful do you find the sport button? I'll hold back my comments until I've had a few back. :driving:

I personaaly don't use it when around the city as I find the response to harsh for my liking. However once I clear the city and hit the country roads then it is alsways switched on :driving:

:driving: Same here guys, the weightier steering and throttle response is great, perfect for getting away from the lights too once you master it!

What model do you have, Auto, Manual, ///, etc....

All these things can make a difference.

Always on. Better steering weight and easier to do throttle blips with it on.

I would not buy one without the sport button, may seem like a gimmick to some, but its so worth it.

 With good clutch control off the line my Z4 is quick!

Agreed, its not as essential for manual if your a good driver.

but the automatic one has low torque w/o steptronic or sport mode. :(

Take it racing a lot then?

 Nope not racing, sometimes it's good just to get a good get away! If I want to go fast i'll use my Hayabusa. :P

I have the M, I believe it just adjusts throttle mapping. I hate it with a passion. The throttle is already too sensitive.

That said on my old 6 series I liked the weight of the steering in sport.

I like a TVR throttle travel - ie full throttle only with the pedal welded to the floor.

If I want to blip the throttle on downshifts, and it's a dry road for hooning, it's on.

Any other time, it's off. Throttle just too sensitive....
