Sport button

I'll bet the lawyers all cringe at the thought--"oh, no, they must make the choice to do that. Can't be giving them anything resembling a race car, don't you know".

yeah it can... add it to your startup checklist.

1. Unlock car
2. Open Door
3. Get in
4. Turn key
5. Seatbelt
6. Sport Button
7. Radio
8. AC
9. Drive

See, you didn't even notice it in your list... :D

Just another question on the sportmode...does it use up more petrol (gasoline) when using the feature?

It will increase consumption for many reasons from the oversensitive throttle that encourages use of more revs and more aggressive acceleration (that smile on your face costs money).
With cruise control it resumes preset speeds way faster.
On autos it sits approx. one gear lower at any speed and holds gears longer changing up later.

Yep, that's why I keep it around for special occasions. :D :driving:

If I want the benefits of the sport button in my auto but don't want to sit one gear higher than normal, I just use the "manual" mode and get the best of both worlds.

Agree with you on that one. I fitted the paddles and so when I do use the sport button tend to almost as a reflex push it one gear higher. In that mode it's a lot of fun as the changes are quicker and it allows better manual up and down shifs.

Drove most of Sunday on our meet and cruise with the paddles and loved it, except in the sun it can be hard to tell what gear is displayed on the dash. Makes you drive by engine feel and sound

I prefer the stiffer feel of the steering. It does seem to keep the revs just right for powering out of corners (on the rare occasion the car gets used properly).

I prefer it to driving without it on, i probably have it on about 70% of the time. The car feels completely different.
Alot of the time it just sneaks itself into my routine of turn engine on, lock doors, seatbelt on, connect phone on bluetooth, press sport button and then away i go :)

drive off - doors lock themselves. Keep bluetooth on for phone, auto syncs.

Just doubled your efficiency!!

Don't know how the doors lock themselves? My Mum's 630 does it but i have to press the button on the center console in the Z.
As for the bluetooth, my Dad's connects automatically as soon as he get's in his X5 but when i get in the Z4 a message comes up on my phone that say's 'connect with BMW****?' and i have to click yes on my phone. :|

As with most things drive off locking has to be programmed by the dealer or independant

there should also be an option on your phone to automatically accept the car device.... what phone you got?
